Viola: Cipher is a curious young human. They appear to not have control over their abilities, which makes them dangerous--however, I find their kindhearted tendencies to not be a facade. I worry they are hiding from something, or someone, and I find myself feeling protective towards them, even though we have just met. How peculiar.
Viola: Cipher never ceases to intrigue me. They have latent power in destructive abilities, yet they reproach this gifts and instead favor speaking to people (or monsters?) and helping where they can. They believe I am a better person than I am--is it naivity or optimism? Why do I want to be the woman they think I am?
Viola: Full of surprises, Cipher has confessed feelings for me. Although incredibly requited, I am concerned by Cipher's lack of experience in living. Does she really want this, I wonder. Am I tricking her? Anyways, beyond my care for her: she continues to develop her psychic powers at an exponential rate. Despite her skill for violence, she constantly works against it in favor of nonviolent solutions. She does not wish to be like the man who made her; she does not want to be influenced by him. I fear she may falter. Not because of the violence that would ensue, but because her ideals may cause her to lose faith in herself. If even I can be redeemed in her eyes, then it is my responsibility to help pick up the pieces should she fall apart. Good is not something she is but something she does, and I hope I can continue to remind her of that long into our future.
