"We must keep the shipping lanes open and safe, so that Kildar may prosper"

Solidarity: A Navigator should help those in need
The seas are often rough and the weather treacherous. A good Navigator should help other seafarers when they're in mortal danger, whoever they are. Every navigator knows someone who didn't make it back from a village.
Honour: Anybody can sink a ship, but only Navigators can do so honourably
Out at sea, where there is no one to enforce contracts or laws, Navigators must instead rely on honour. This is, after all, what separates them from pirates and other evils. As such, Navigators are constantly reminded of the importance of honour.
Loyalty: A Navigator should trust their superior to make the right choice
In the heat of battle, questioning a decision can have fatal consequences. Crew members are expected to follow their Captain's orders on blind faith alone, and this dynamic extends to the relationship between Admirals and Captains.
