Our quest was to get a shard from the mines in the TEZ, and bring it to the Kildarian Underground. While exploring we found the shard, but had to fight a phaerimm munching on it, to get it. In the mines we also found a lot of aesteroid material, somewhat similar to an earlier mentioned spaceship that used to be below Rhyl.
With a bit of research we got this information:
The shards have a Netherese origin. They are from the Mythallar, which is a big power source located in the TEZ. In Netherese times, they used this power source to let their cities float. Now we for example use it to power the portal network.
Phaerimm, a species from outer space that we encoutered in multiple mines, including the ones below Rhyl, came to Kildar long ago to eat this magic from the power source.
This Mythallar is probably also Grandmother’s phalactory, which means she used a big power source to store her soul(?) in. Pretty smart if you ask me. But what the hags are planning on using it for, don’t ask me.
Lastly, the average Kildarian probably hasn’t heard of/knows of the Netherese history, but other civilications might have. They might know more of the destructive qualities than we do. Which might be why they feel the need to destruct it and “protect us”.
