Appearing in both the frozen reaches of Borealreach and the scorching sands of the Sunfire Expanse, Dwarves are renowned for their craftsmanship, architectural ingenuity, and martial prowess. Though the splendor of their ancient empires has long since faded into legend, they remain fiercely protective of what survives, and many still harbor dreams of reclaiming lost strongholds and treasures.
During The Throne War, Dwarves fought alongside Humankind and the Chromalith. However, the cataclysmic Therianthropic Convergence forced the dwarves to retreat, severing many of these bonds. Nearly two and a half centuries later, the majority of dwarves lead secluded lives within their ancestral halls and hidden enclaves.

Yet some venture into the wider world, whether for trade, resources, or the pursuit of old grudges. In recent years, mountain dwarves have found themselves in renewed conflict with the Kaleidosian. Decades of settlement and isolation have given rise to distinct sub-races, each carrying its own heritage and customs, and unique skills.
Mountain Dwarves
The stalwart dwellers of towering peaks and craggy ridges, mountain dwarves are the archetypal warriors and master builders of their kind. Their strongholds, carved from stone and reinforced with intricate engineering, are marvels of defense and artistry. Known for their endurance and tactical skill, mountain dwarves excel in combat and fortress maintenance. Their society values honor, tradition, and skill, with clans competing through craftsmanship, dueling prowess, and leadership. Despite recent tensions with the Kaleidosian, they remain resolute in defending their mountain homes and ancestral treasures.
Desert Dwarves
Resilient and resourceful, desert dwarves inhabit the Sunfire Expanse, mastering survival in harsh, unforgiving landscapes. Their cities, often hidden within canyons or beneath sand dunes. Desert dwarves are skilled artisans, capable to craft exquisite jewelry, glasswork, and metalwork from desert resources. They prize adaptability, and endurance, and their knowledge of the desert's secrets is unmatched.
Depths Dwarves
Mysterious and reclusive, depths dwarves dwell in the subterranean labyrinths beneath mountains and ancient ruins. Depths dwarves often prefer solitude, communicating through signals and networks built over centuries. They are attuned to the natural magic of the underground world. They are rarely seen above ground.
“Everyone knows dwarves have long, luxurious beards. Fewer know they’re equally hairy in other regions. Mountain dwarves sometimes trim them…sometimes they don’t. Either way, you’re gonna be wrestling hair in places you didn’t expect.”
“Desert dwarves are skilled at surviving harsh sands. Too bad they bring the same abrasiveness to the bedroom. Apparently, if a dwarf has sand in his loincloth, you’ll feel it later in ways you didn’t sign up for.”
