The Realm of Exotia

The Realm of Exotia lies in the far eastern reaches of Vitallia. A continent of immense natural beauty, it is covered in dense forests, towering mountains, and miles of uncharted wilderness. The elves first arrived here under the guidance of Laira, an Amar who died upon reaching the white shores of Exotia, leaving her people to claim and shape the land.

Campaigning in Exotia

Exotia is a land defined by untamed wilderness:

  • Cities are separated by vast distances.

  • Travel requires days of navigating forests, rivers, and uncharted regions.

  • Woodland creatures, both benign and monstrous, roam freely.

  • Strange vegetation and natural phenomena make survival skills essential.

The realm is perfect for campaigns focused on exploration, nature, mysticism, and ancient secrets hidden beneath the leaves.

The People of Exotia

The Exotian population is composed mainly of:

  • Elves — serene, empathetic, and deeply connected to nature.

  • Fays — wild, instinctive beings who refuse settlement, wandering in small packs like animals.

Exotians rarely involve themselves in foreign politics. They maintain trade routes with neighboring lands but seldom travel beyond their borders. Their detachment stems from the belief that the troubles of the outside world hold little relevance to them.

Useful Lore

  • Exotia's constitution differs from other kingdoms; conflicts among elves are rare due to their innate empathy.

  • The realm’s remote geography protects it from most large-scale invasions.

  • Yet, throughout history, Exotia has suffered attacks that influenced the fate of Vitallia.

  • In peaceful eras, threats come mostly from distant raiders seeking to plunder Exotia’s abundant resources.

The Dangers of Exotia

The land itself is the greatest danger:

  • Natural phenomena can be deadly to outsiders unfamiliar with Exotia’s laws of nature.

  • Unique monsters exist only here due to the realm’s unusual climate.

  • The forces of nature act with amplified intensity—storms, earthquakes, and magical anomalies.

  • Survival requires reading environmental signs and respecting the balance of the wilderness.

Exotian Customs

  • The Great Elder rules the realm, elected by the Circle of Elders.

  • Each settlement is managed by an Elderman, supported by their bloodline.

  • The Circle of Elders forms naturally, composed of elves instinctively recognized as leaders.

  • All Exotians learn music, archery, and spear-fighting from a young age.

  • They worship The First Phoenix, The Sentinel, and other Amar unknown to most of the world.

  • Exotian settlements operate fluidly—people pursue different crafts according to daily desire and instinct.

  • Their economy is based entirely on barter rather than gold.

  • Dead are burned for reincarnation, ensuring their return to the cycle.

  • Large groups of Wild Elves reject civilization, living in remote areas and often becoming threats to both locals and foreigners.
