Description

To say that Solarus is light does not even come close to being the truth of it. Heralded as the God of Life, Solarus is the sun and the stars, the breath of creation, and the creator of the Dinari. But they are also destruction in all of its forms. Life is a cycle to Solarus, and death is a necessary part of it, for how else can new life flourish?

There are some that believe Solarus is also the God of Death, that they and Umtheras are one and the same—the greatest light casting the darkest shadow. But there are six Gods—no more, no less. Still, whether or not there is truth to this rumor, both Umtheras and Solarus share one similar trait; they are both androgynous.

When the Uniseph gave physical form to the universe, Solarus was the first to breach out of the Infinite Dark. They were shape and form and sound given physical presence, and they were glorious.

So glorious, in fact, that even at the height of their power, few Dinari worshiped Solarus for fear of their magnificence. Legends tell tales of their mercy burning entire kingdoms simply by showing their love. Solarus’ gifts were so beautiful and magnanimous that life itself lost its meaning. Where Solarus came, death would soon follow, trailing behing them like a shadow.

There are no true descriptions of Solarus. They were always described as light, so their followers gave praise to the Sun. But as most cultures evolved, they anthropomorphized them into a Vanari, tall, wise, and always holding a golden scepter.

If your players decide that they wish to worship the “Lord of the Gods,” Firtborn of the Great Song, they should be aware that while Solarus is the Lawful Good God of Life and Light, their will is rarely swayed, and their gifts are often dangerously perfect.
