Age. Silerion mature quickly, reaching adulthood by age 12. They rarely live beyond 50 years in the wild, though their natural lifespan may be longer.
Alignment. Usually Neutral. They are driven by survival and tribal loyalty rather than moral codes. To outsiders, they appear chaotic or "evil" due to their raids and unknown rituals.
Size. Silerion are smaller than humans and possess a hunched, ape-like posture. They stand between 4 and 6 feet tall, with males generally being taller and broader.
In the academic commentaries of Aleric, the Silerion are described as a "lost people." They are the ghosts of Poseia’s forests—nomadic, elusive, and largely misunderstood. While the other races build upward toward the heavens or deep into the earth, the Silerion wander the ruins of a greatness they no longer remember.
I. Dwellers of the Dark Woods
The Fur-Lined Kin Often mistaken for Men from a distance, the Silerion are distinctly beast-like upon closer inspection.
The Wild Aspect: Their bodies are covered in thick fur, typically in shades of brown, though black and grey are not uncommon. Their eyes, though mirroring the hues of humanity, often hold a feral, guarded intensity.
The Hunched Stature: They move with a distinctive ape-like gait. Despite their hunched backs, they are incredibly agile in the dense undergrowth, utilizing their claws and natural strength to navigate terrains where Men would stumble.
II. A Lost Origin
The Echoes of Empire The greatest mystery of the Silerion lies in what they used to be. Across Poseia, crumbling ruins and weathered inscriptions hint at a once-advanced civilisation that possessed high magic and a complex language.
The Great Collapse: Whether through foreign invasion, agricultural failure, or divine curse, the Silerion fell. Today, they possess no written language and only a few basic words of their ancestral lexicon.
The Hämäräälar Rumors: Academic circles whisper that the secluded libraries of the Deep-Kin (Voräälyn) hold the true account of the Silerion’s downfall, but these secrets remain locked beneath the mountains.
III. Menace or Misunderstood
The Tribal Survivalists Treated as vermin by the "civilised" states of Poseia, the Silerion have been driven into the deepest, most foreboding regions of the woods.
Tribal Hierarchy: They live in small, nomadic bands of up to 20 members. While mostly peaceful and sedentary, larger tribes are known to raid human settlements when resources are scarce, wielding wooden sticks, sharp claws, or the occasional rusted relic of a sword.
The Forest Rituals: The woods they inhabit are often scattered with the remnants of strange rituals. To the people of the villages, these are signs of sacrifice and slaughter used to frighten children; to the Silerion, they are the fragmented, instinctive remains of a culture they can no longer explain.
