The Kingsguard are the sworn shield of the Crown, bound not to territory or politics but to the life and blood of the King and royal family. They stand apart from the King’s Army, answering only to the throne, and are chosen for skill, discipline, and unwavering loyalty. Where the Army defends the realm, the Kingsguard defends the symbol of it. Their presence in the throne room is quiet but absolute, and on the battlefield they move with precision that reflects years of controlled, relentless training.

Many among their ranks carry the blood of House Vastares, inheriting a lineage forged in discipline and martial tradition. Others are knights from noble houses who proved themselves under Vastares instruction at Darkcastle and Silverspoon, earning their place through merit rather than birth alone. To wear the white cloak and polished steel of the Kingsguard is not merely an honor but a lifetime oath. They are expected to be the fiercest and most skilled warriors in Llithe, yet their greatest strength is restraint. A Kingsguard draws steel only when the Crown itself is threatened, and when they do, it is decisive.
