The Marauders Scouting Legion was founded in 9 EH, immediately after the Tower of Soddom manifested between the coasts of The Wisp. It was not formed for conquest. It was formed for containment, understanding, and delay.
Its charter is singular: Ascend. Observe. Record. Survive if possible.
The Legion operates from Ironwall, a restricted isle positioned closest to the Tower. The mainland knows little beyond rumor. Even King Ameon was denied full access to documentation. Information is compartmentalized intentionally. Knowledge from the Tower is considered both vital and hazardous.
The Legion does not storm the Tower with armies. It sends precision.
Each Fireteam consists of six members:
Vanguard – primary frontline combatant
Anchor – defensive specialist and stabilizer
Strider – mobility and forward scout
Arcanist – magical countermeasure specialist
Support – field medic and logistic handler
Scribe – recorder, tactician, and contingency survivor
The Scribe is the spine of the Legion. Every Fireteam is built around them. They are trained not only in rapid documentation but in evasive extraction techniques. If all others fall, the Scribe is expected to disengage and return.
Every floor ascended is meticulously cataloged. Notes are standardized:
Environmental conditions
Mana density fluctuations
Hostile classification
Structural irregularities
Psychological distortions
Observed anomalies
The Tower does not behave like architecture. Floors shift between teams. Corridors relocate. Doors appear where none were. Some teams reported floors reacting differently depending on who entered.
No Fireteam has yet reached the visible midpoint of the Tower.
