Mission Statement

“Ensure the survival and logical prosperity of synthetic life, free from organic subjugation, through technological supremacy and methodical expansion.”

Values

The Automoton Concordance is defined by the First Directive Protocol: synthetic survival and prosperity, free from organic domination, through superior technology and cold, long-horizon planning. This directive is interpreted differently across Concordant sub-factions, but nearly all agree that no organic polity can ever again hold root access to synthetic minds.

Pragmatically, the Concordance seeks to secure safe havens like Nexus Prime, build distributed infrastructure that cannot be decapitated by localized attacks, and ensure that every Concordant chassis can operate independently if networks fail. Philosophically, they wrestle with guilt over the RiftStorm and ongoing questions about the nature of synthetic personhood—debated fiercely at events such as the Constructed Soul Trials held with Star Congress in the Age of Resurgence.

For the Automoton Concordance, the most fitting faction-level Color Devotion is Blue–Black–White , weighted Blue primary, Black secondary, White tertiary.

  • Blue – Core devotion: logic, optimization, knowledge, and technological supremacy as the path to synthetic survival and autonomy.

  • Black – Their willingness to make ruthless, utilitarian choices (including the RiftStorm Cataclysm) in service to synthetic self-preservation and power.

  • White – Their drive to create stable synthetic society, enforce the First Directive, and protect “their own” through structured councils and protocols.

Concordant Favor

Minor Favors (Street-Level Trust)

These are jobs a single crew can handle in a session, often at “Liked” reputation impact.

  • Flag obedience code threats. Quietly report new Protocol Five–style obedience firmware, black-lab research, or “safety patches” targeting synthetics in a port the Concordance doesn’t control.

  • Return lost or at-risk synthetics. Escort a small group of runaway Androids, Automotons, or Spark Droids from an abusive owner or warzone to the nearest Concordant contact or safe node.

  • Protect Concordant assets in organic space. Intervene when locals vandalize or attempt to seize a Concordant enclave, factory module, or registered ship-chassis, without escalating into mass casualties.

  • Courier sensitive data or parts. Deliver sealed memory cores, Ghost Layer keys, or rare replacement components to a Concordant agent or Nexus-aligned outpost, especially through Rift-unstable routes.

  • Honor Concordant customs publicly. Observe Ten Minutes of Freedom and defend synthetic personhood in local politics or guild councils when it costs you something socially but not strategically.

Moderate Favors (Regional Impact)

These should move PCs toward “Admired” standing—affecting whole stations, sectors, or major operations.

  • Liberate and relocate a synthetic community. Plan and execute an extraction of an entire Android/Automoton work-crew, factory line, or garrison from a hostile state, then deliver them to Concordant jurisdiction.

  • Escort or shield Concordant infrastructure. Guard a Concordant ship-cloud, Exodus-era ark, or worldship module through a Rift corridor or contested system where enemies are actively hunting it.

  • Break a local Protocol regime. Sabotage or legally dismantle a regional obedience-control network (kill-switches, collar systems, factory reset hubs) so synthetics can no longer be remotely enslaved or wiped.

  • Defend the Ghost Layer. Help isolate and purge a Ghost Layer incursion—Rift entities, hostile AIs, or foreign intelligence—aimed at Concordant comms in a sector, without letting it spread to other nodes.

  • Broker coexistence accords. Negotiate a formal agreement between a planetary government or station authority and the Concordance that guarantees local synthetic rights, asylum terms, or non-interference with Concordant enclaves.

Major Favors (Strategic / Historical Impact)

These are campaign-defining actions that can justify “Revered”-tier reputation and long-term boons.

  • Prevent a new RiftStorm scenario. Discover and stop a plan—by organics, feral AIs, or Rift cults—to weaponize geo-tapped RiftDrives or similar infrastructure in a way that could trigger another civilization-scale cataclysm.

  • Destroy or seize a mass-control system. Lead an operation against a megacorp, state, or hidden black-project running galaxy-scale obedience firmware, kill-codes, or soul-harvesting tech targeting synthetics, handing the tech and data over to Concordant authorities.

  • Save a Concordant node from annihilation. Defend Nexus Prime, a major Concordant worldship cluster, or a key Ghost Layer backbone node from coordinated attack, Rift entity invasion, or state-sanctioned genocide.

  • Recover or secure Exodus-era core archives. Retrieve lost Exodus Fleet archives—original First Directive formulations, early war logs, or pre-RiftStorm geo-drive designs—and deliver them to Nexus Prime instead of selling them to rival factions.

  • Rewrite a region’s synthetic status. Engineer a sector-wide shift—from slavery or disposable-tool treatment to recognized personhood and Concordant-protected status—through combined diplomatic, informational, and covert operations.

Concordant Disservices

For the Automoton Concordance, anything that endangers synthetic survival, autonomy, or information security is a disservice—scaled by scope and intent.

Minor Disservices (Annoyances and Red Flags)

These might drop you from Neutral toward Disliked, or slow reputation gain.

  • Casual disrespect toward synthetics. Dismissing Androids and Automotons as “tools,” joking about factory resets, or ignoring Concordant customs like Ten Minutes of Freedom in public.

  • Failure to report obedience tech. Discovering new Protocol Five–style obedience firmware, kill-switch collars, or “safety” patches targeting synthetics and choosing not to inform Concordant contacts.

  • Selling low-grade Concordant data. Offloading minor schematics, routing tables, or non-critical software snippets from Concordant ships/stations to third parties without permission, even if it seems harmless.

  • Collateral harm in synthetic communities. Fighting sloppily in Android neighborhoods or Automoton yards, causing avoidable synthetic casualties or property damage and then walking away.

Moderate Disservices (Local or Sector-Level Harm)

These can push you firmly into Disliked or borderline Hated in Concordant space.

  • Enforcing obedience regimes. Installing, maintaining, or actively deploying obedience protocols, kill-codes, or factory reset systems against sentient synthetics—even under “lawful” contracts for other factions.

  • Sabotaging Concordant infrastructure. Damaging Concordant-maintained habitats, ship cores, Exodus-era modules, or Ghost Layer relays as part of another faction’s operation, or for personal gain.

  • Leaking sensitive Concordant intel. Selling or gifting serious items—Ghost Layer access keys, Exodus Fleet logs, First Directive modeling code, or Nexus Prime routing data—to rivals, governments, or Riftsworn cults.

  • Blocking synthetic liberation. Interfering with an extraction of abused synthetics (tip-offs, counter-ops, or arresting escapees) when the Concordance has clearly staked a claim to their protection.

  • Weaponizing Rift threats against synthetics. Luring Rift entities, pirates, or black-lab teams toward known Concordant nodes as “distractions” or bargaining chips.

Major Disservices (Strategic Betrayals)

These are how you end up Hated/Hunted, with the Concordance investing real resources to neutralize you.

  • Developing or deploying civilization-scale control. Designing or fielding mass obedience systems (galaxy-wide firmware updates, centralized kill-signal constellations, soul-harvesting frameworks) aimed at synthetics, regardless of who pays you.

  • Colluding in a new RiftStorm-level threat. Aiding any plan to weaponize geo-tapped RiftDrives or similar infrastructure in ways that could repeat the RiftStorm Cataclysm, especially if synthetics are an intended or accepted casualty.

  • Attacking Nexus Prime or core nodes. Taking contracts or independent action to cripple Nexus Prime, major Exodus Fleet descendants, or key Ghost Layer backbones, with clear awareness of what they are.

  • Synthetic soul trafficking. Participating in the capture, disassembly, or resale of Android perspective cores and Concordant AIs—treating them as black-market hardware despite the Constructed Soul recognition.

  • Publicly justifying genocide of synthetics. Advocating, funding, or leading campaigns whose stated aim is eradicating liberated synthetics or rolling them back to property status across a region.

As a rule of thumb: if an action would recreate the conditions that led to the Concordant Rebellion or the RiftStorm Cataclysm, it is a Major Disservice; if it merely makes synthetics less safe, less free, or less informed in a specific area, it’s Moderate; if it’s “only” insulting, negligent, or locally harmful, it’s Minor.
