The Politikerklasse is composed of those 'higher-ups' of the Nation who have, as a dominantly active skillset, their capacity for debate, discussion, blackmail, and argument.

This is not to say, however, that they are incapable of other things, no; many of them have held positions of note for many years, and incompetence is something the Nation cannot suffer at scale.

An individual Politiker may be incompetent, but the Politikerklasse is not. A corrupt member of the Politiker may be acceptable, but cronyism is not. The Nation will succeed, and there is nobody who is so high that they can interfere with that.

Due to the particular circumstances of the Nation's existence and origin, there exists no kind of 'political party,' but instead informally organized individuals aligning to several disparate kinds of political thought. Most of those figures, if they wish to form a career of it, inevitably find themselves dragged upwards in to ORON, and then VGON; the legislative body of the Nation. While ORON does perform some political actions, it remains an unpaid and part-time position.

VGON is where one is, definitively and inviolably, a Politiker.

A simple majority of 244 in VGON is enough to pass legislation; it is a quick and efficient process by-design, but that doesn't mean debates are- especially when it comes to Five-Year Plans, which often come down to direct orders from the VGON 'head' to get them decided.

While it has not happened yet, a 'tie' of VGON would result in the Legislation being sent to ORON for a vote. Undesirable, given the delay in its implementation, so all present make sure that does not happen.

With no formal political parties and VGON being bound by Thought more than dogma, there is both incredible cooperation and vigorous disagreement; a sect that cooperated on one piece of legislation may be viscerally opposed to another, and a bad day for one member may result in an 'odd' vote. There are dozens of potential names and groupings one could use, depending on preference, but here are some, and the associated VGON arrangement.

They are elected in a loose sense; democracy in the Nation exists only at the very lowest levels, the 'sub-block' and 'block' levels of Sektors are directly democratic; your vote counting as to who is in-power on that scale. On the scale of the Sektors themselves, and nevermind the likes of ORON and VGON, the elections are instead held 'in house' between the Politikerklasse.

While the average Nation citizen technically has a say over influencing who gets up to such a position, they have no great control over anything further, and thus the Politikerklasse can be kept 'free of the possibility of Imperial subversion.'

Given the average Rotfronter has no idea how far 'Democracy' even spreads as an idea, this is ultimately still something satisfying for them; knowing that they do have an influence on the Nation's government, in particular the people who directly rule over them. A calming and socially pacifiying effect.

Just as intended.
