STARS serve as the Nation homeland defence force, and appear to be the most common unit within the Protektoriate. Their towering seven-foot-two stature was specifically designed to both instill fear and capability into the STAR units. Their added height gives them the ability to see over large crowds, and gives them a much longer stride in a full sprint, crucial for security operations. These units are your run of the mill grunts, often in squads of four either led by a Starling Officer or a Controller unit. These units are incredibly experienced in their field, both in close combat and riot control. While these units are typically laid back, they hold a strong respect to their internal hierarchy. They maintain a professional demeanour with both their staff and their department, as they are the face of the Nation's security force.
STAR units are noted to be social butterflies, and typically move in swarms when on duty. It is common to find two Starlings patrol hallways together. They often perform random shake-downs for any contraband items, and enforce the laws the Nation has set. Dorm inspections however, must be first approved by either a Starling Officer or a Controller unit.
STAR units can often be harsh to one another as well, typically physically punishing any of their own sisters who may not be respected, or are viewed as a 'disgrace' within their cadre. It is noted that if a Starling were to be promoted to officer, they must be respected by their fellow sisters, otherwise there will be friction within their dorms. Many unspoken in-group rules can be found within the cadre, and only apply to STAR units.

The STAR unit is a starting Protektor role. Before applying for a STCR or KLBR, it is recommended that you spend at least two weeks as a STAR to better understand both the Protektoriate and their protocols within the facility. Protektor staff are held to a higher standard, therefore failure is punishable. Failure to take action, or showing a lack of professionalism will result in these punishments.
As a STAR unit, there is a behaviour tolerance, in which they may deviate much like an ARAR or EULR for the sake of writing freedom, however should their personality stray too far from their intended purpose and begin to cause issues, then they will be handled by their superiors accordingly.
