The Realm of Liminalis is a Live Action Roleplaying game where players set out to discover the mysteries of the Cataclysm and save the Kingdom from ruin. You play as a recently deceased hero from the Kingdom of Erden who is navigating Liminalis and the Afterworld, trying to discover the secrets to restoring the gods’ power in the mortal world, and striving with your fellows to rebuild the Kingdom. You can join one of 5 different factions that have been working together to save this bleak new world: the Arcana Obscura, The Bloomguard, The Lanternward Striders, The Oathsworn, or The Runewrights.
You’ll work alongside the fellow members of your faction—as well as call on allies from the others— to undertake quests answering the desperate prayers of the mortal world. As a Twiceborn venturing out from Liminalis you’ll learn skills and abilities by reawakening memories from your past life. There are many ways your heroic story might take shape, from enacting complex magics, to crafting powerful tools and tonics, from seeking boons from the domains of the gods, to fighting against the feral Bloodless and even more dangerous foes.
The Twiceborn who find their way to Liminalis soon discover they are not alone. Other figures from ages past likewise haunt these strange halls. Among them, old legends of the very factions into which the Twiceborn had been initiated. These elder shades were among the first to be called from the Afterworld, heroes in their own right who witnessed many great events of the world. As their names have persisted across history, these Wardens were called forth by the gods to act as conduits for the prayers of the living and to be the spirits communed with by mortals. Those Who Came Before are often called away to hear the plights of the living world, to deliver the miracles wrought by the Twiceborn, and collect what offerings have been left to the gods and their reborn champions. It is the ultimate duty of the Wardens to coordinate and teach the Twiceborn, to guide them in their quests, so that they, and others like them, may finally rest.
