First Servant Channon

Kirk Channon is the first and current Prime Minister of the Dominion, formerly he served as the Right Hand to Paragon Thryce. He has been left as steward of the Dominion government in the absence of the Paragon following her disappearance at the beginning of the war. Channon's service as the Right Hand was defined by impossible diplomatic situations with the Paragon's less favored Governors. Now, however, he has the opportunity to change things but the war has kept him mired in the land of bitter compromises.

The 'First Servant' has served in government for over thirty years and is renowned as a political veteran who is effective as he is obstinate. He had begun to plan for his retirement shortly before the war came to fruition but was unable to tender his resignation. Many concerns have been raised about his capacity for leadership on account of his ever increasing age but more importantly as a result of his recent grief.

Channon lost his wife and two children in the Night of a Thousand Tears. They are presumed to have burned to death when his manor was lit aflame by Korinthian forces, their bodies were never recovered. The First Servant has not commented on his loss and is consistently criticized for not taking any time away from leadership for bereavement. Regardless he has succeeded in stemming the tide of losses from the first half of the war, for which he is praised. His steely commitment to defeating the Korinthians is one aspect of his person which is never called into doubt.
