Ossic Bronze is the catch-all term used by the Expeditionary Coalition for an unusual material found with some frequency in ruins and long abandoned battlefields in the Southern Reaches. Named for what some researcher's believe to be the origin, the remains at the Speared Bones.

Ossic Bronze has a look similar to a very dull bronze, in some cases appearing almost brown, the material holds an edge exceptionally well, with all recovered specimens capable of use without any maintenance required. Similarly, any furniture such as hilt-wrapping is functional and as yet seems impervious to wear and tear.

The material's second most interesting trait is made apparent when these weapons of war are used for their intended purpose. Weapons of ossic bronze absorb any blood left on the metal surface for more than a few seconds. However there does seem to be a point at which the weapons become sated/quenched, at least for a time.

Examples of ossic bronze weaponry have been found in limited numbers across all regions of the Southlands, however no armour made of the material has been discovered. Expedition metalsmiths have thus far been unable to work any shards or the few broken weapons.
