Following William Dune into the strange shaft, the The Green Dragon Brotherhood found themselves in another metal hallway, which led to a large chamber where they found one of the Old Ones controlling several Fire Beetles with its mind assisted by a strange silver helmet.

They soon realized that this was some kind of experimental zoo, with specimens held in cells behind mysterious transparent "glass." After dispatching the beetles and the Old One, they found themselves attacked in quick succession by many exotic and dangerous creatures released one by one from their cells.

The Brotherhood fought bravely and used sound tactics to defeat these creatures - along with a heaping helping of alien technology and stolen magic. Everyone emerged relatively safely, except for William Dune, whose last fireball could not protect against a giant dinosaur bite and which seems to have caused a strange shift in gender (failed DDM check).

Somehow (s)he survived (thanks to a re-rolled dead/mostly dead check), though with a limp and useless right leg.

The Brotherhood soon realized the cages had been opened by two more Old Ones hidden in an antechamber. Greer the Betrayer tried to use the mysterious helmet to control them psychically, but their own mental powers kept them safe enough to escape through yet another energy field...
