Race Details

Varmint are a diverse race of animals that grew sentient and intelligent by consuming toxic waste.

As the waste production of Hub, Capital City grew exponentially over the decades, so did the population of Gorummage. Many people and creatures scavenge the garbage heap.

A lot of the waste comes from Hub’s food disposal, but some of it comes directly from the guilds. The Bain-marie and Society of Gastronomancy in particular produce lots of magical and alchemical waste. Throughout time, it began to mutate the scavengers of Gorummage. The most noticeable transformation is through Hub’s vermin. Rats, pigeons, cockroaches, flies, and raccoons that scour the heaps gradually turned bipedal and sentient and in due time became a species of their own. These garbage-eating humanoids are collectively called Varmint, and are generally looked down upon.

Most Varmints live under the rule of the Clans of Gorummage.
