House Rules

✦ Rules & Homebrew

➤ Be nice and respectable, and let others have their moments to shine! :)

➤ Instead of Lawful-Neutral-Chaos alignments, we use ORDER, Neutral/Balance and Chaos. There's also the Light, Dark, and Void alignments but that's a separate thing. This is all mostly for worldbuilding vibes :3

➤ You're going to have to mention what you're gonna do before you do it, absolutely NO retcons. Eg. Mentioning ki usage, applying poison, etc. Which in extension means that if something has already happened, there's no going back to change it. if you made a mistake, we're sticking with it for that turn.

➤ We generally don't keep track of ammo unless necessary, and we generally don't keep track of carry weight to a reasonable extent.

➤ We do have cover rules in play, but no flanking. Half Cover is +2 AC, 3/4th cover is +5!

➤ For critical hits, we're re-rolling every die, including things like two sneak attack rolls, twice the divine smites, and all other such bonuses.

➤ Short rests are only 10 minutes, but you can only have 2 per long rest!

➤ If you choose to drink a potion as an action, you gain the max possible HP. If you choose to drink one as a bonus action, you have to roll for it.

➤ If you roll a Nat 1, you gain inspiration for the next roll onward! You can also choose to give this inspiration to an ally.

✦ Character Creation Rules

➤ As a homebrew rule we're using the floating ability score bonuses for ALL races! That means instead of the pre-defined ASIs, you can either have a +2,+1 or three +1s. This applies to the old 5e races, as 5.5e already has this feature.

➤ We generally use a CUSTOM POINT-BUY system instead of rolling for stats. The Point Buy is a total of 30 points to spend instead of 27, and you can push it upto 16 instead of 15, but the 16 costs 3 instead of just 2. Simultaneously, you can choose to go down to a 7 instead of 8, and that gives you a +1 point. 5e harshly punishes failure, so allocate smartly. This link has the custom rules I've implemented.

➤ All official sources and Unearthed Arcana sources are valid! We're playing 5.5e, so if something has been reprinted for the 2024 rules you have to pick that, otherwise the older version is valid. For Classes, Subclasses, and Spells, allowed sources include LaserLlama, KibblesTasty, Critical Role, and partnered content including Grim Hollow and the like. Far as other homebrew goes, run homebrew races/items/backgrounds/feats by me! <3

➤ For individuality, Racial Feats such as Orcish Fury, Winged Tiefling, Dragonborn Wings, Dwarf Resilience, and so on count as Origin Feats allowed to be taken during character creation at level 1.

➤ When starting at higher levels for one-shots or replacement characters, you roll for your money! Starting money OR gear from your class + (level)d100 gold. For example, if making a level 5 character, you'd do 5d100 for your gold. You're allowed to purchase your starting equipment with your money, and you get one free uncommon magical item at level 5, and one free rare at level 10!

➤ You're allowed to reflavor and change the aesthetics of stuff to a reasonable degree, but run mechanical changes by me.

➤ We use 5eTools for resources! Latest link: https://5etools-mirror-1.github.io/
