There are many races specifically created for the world of Abmarah, including ancient races long-thought extinct. As the world is full of multiple culture and races, most races from existing Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks can easily be played and flavored as travelers or residents. Even the ancient races here can be played, with the player with their DM coming up with a suitable backstory to explain how their character exists in the modern day. Most peoples do not have a racial culture, instead their culture is based on the city or faction that they grew up in.
These races from the Player’s Handbook and other such source books have vastly different origins, lore, and cultures on Abmarah not connected to their original source. For example, Khenra do not have any of their connections to Amonkhet. Similarly, the origins of Warforged and Dreamborn (Kalashtar) are vastly different even if similar to their origins in Eberron. Some races have been renamed in Abmarah to fit the lore, such as Aarakocra being a subrace of 'Aven' here, and Tlincalli being called Vicchu in Eqos. The same racial stats apply, unless stated otherwise. All lore, name, and stat changes are presented in the short pages for each individual race.
In Abmarah, the races are classified in the following groups:
Heavenborn (Celestials)
Hellborn (Fiends)
Faeborn (Fey & Yokai)
Primordialborn (Elementals)
Otherborn (Aberrations)
Voidborn (Undead & Acribii & ???)
Animalborn (Beasts)
Plantborn (Plants)
Jotunborn (Giants)
Cephaborn (Cephas)
Lizardborn (Saurians & Naga)
Koborn (Kobolds)
Tortleborn (Tortles)
Felidborn (Panshera)
Canidborn (Khenra & Foxkin)
Homoborn (Vanara & Hadozee)
Bugborn (Vepsene & Thri-Kreen)
Batborn (Bakkin)
Hippoborn (Giff)
Hareborn (Harengon)
Hyenaborn (Gnolls)
Fishborn (Karkon, Ikatoa, & Grung)
Halfborn (Minotaurs, Centaurs, Satyrs, & Harpies)
Cerviborn (Cervans)
Procyborn (Mapach)
Boarborn (Zhulon)
Fungiborn (Myconids)
Floraborn (Floren, Treants, & Dryads)
While most of these races cannot have children with other races, many races are able to interbreed to varying levels of success, mostly with the ever-adaptable humans. The planetouched races (Aasimar, Tieflings, Genasi, etc) are mostly changed humans but can be any other race that has been planetouched. The possible half-races are:
Half-Elves (Humans & Elves)
Half-Dwarves (Humans & Dwarves)
Half-Orcs (Humans & Orcs)
Half-Goblins (Humans & Goblinoids)
Half-Vanara (Humans & Vanara)
Half-Panshera (Humans & Panshera)
Half-Vedavin (Humans & Vedavin)
Half-Dryad (Humans/Elves & Dryads)
Half-Dragons (Humans/Elves & Dragons)
Half-Giants (Humans/Goliaths & Giants, not to be confused with Goliaths)
Half-Naga / Naga Halfbloods (Humans & Naga, bioengineered)
Half-Ogres (Humans/Goblionoids/Orcs & Ogres)
Dwelfs (Dwarves & Elves)
Half-Races generally have no culture of their own and either integrate with whichever community they grow up in, or have to find their own way in life not accepted by either parentage. They choose racial statistics from one of their parents.

The Pantheon of Eights has a general hypothesis on the origin of most of the sentient races in the cosmos that fits within their hierarchy of creation gods and mythology.
The Heavenborn, also known as Celestials, who are divine creatures and servants of the gods that reside in the upper planes. A large portion of them are known as Angels, who are most often born as twin pairs. They are generally immortal.
The Hellborn, also known as Fiends, who were corrupted from the angels by Gunian and Krros. Many chose this of their own free will. Varkanus' influence split them into two forms, his chaotic demons carved from the orderly devils.
The Faeborn, also known as Fey, who were supposedly a mixture of celestials and fiends that inexplicably became their own thing in the realm of the Feywild. Many mortal races derive their origins from the Fey having been feytouched.
The Primordialborn, also known as the Elementals, were born from the powers of the primordials in the elemental planes instead of any of the gods. They form a subset of races that do not derive their existence from divinity at all, only chaos.
The Voidborn, who were all that existed yet defied origin or existence. Not even the gods know where they come from or why they exist, but many have own theories.
In the primordial era leading into the first era, there were the original civilizations of the first people. The exact origins of them are up to speculation, but the most commonly held theories of their own origins are presented below. They are also known as the 'Creator Races'.
The Alfborn, also known as the Alves, who were the fae progenitors of the modern Elves said to be created from a cloud of Elder Kosmos' own gaseous body. Kosmos is said to have created the universe as a whole, and the Alves were given their eternally adaptable nature. Alternatively, they were created by Deltus, who is widely regarded as one of if not the first elf. They settled the Feywild and became the Eladrin, and the Eladrin that first settled Abmarah became High Elves that later diverged into the Sun Elves and the Moon Elves. Later still, groups of Elves would diverge to form the Wood Elves, the Dark Elves (Drow), Sea Elves, Astral Elves, Sand Elves, and so on.
The Jotunborn, also known as the Giants, who formed the first great empires. They were created from the sweat of the largest titan, Dimensos, while he was shaping the cosmological world tree. They are split into the distinct class structures and types we know today- Storm Giants, Cloud Giants, Fire Giants, Frost Giants, Stone Giants, Hill Giants, and the various other giant-kin descended from them.
The Omniborn, also known as the Omniks or the Omnicons, who were supposed to be the 'Inheritors of the Universe'. Created by Elder Mekalus to be perfect warriors, the Omniborn were split into three subraces- The Araiborn, the Nokrborn, and the Zielborn. In the golden age, they were essentially one of the three most important races of the world alongside Elves and Dwarves. Eventually, most would be erased from existence after their rebellion against the gods.
The Dwarfborn, simply known as the Dwarves, who became the masters of earth and metal. Supposedly carved out of the mantle by the titan Rhos in his own image, and led the Dwarves to become one of the greatest civilizations. However, the great Dwarven Empire stood against the Omniborn in their rebellion against the gods, and were punished greatly with the loss of their greater kingdom. Rhos himself was slain in battle, and his student, the angel Vertum, became the chief of the Dwarven pantheon. Many still worship Rhos directly though, in hopes of reforging the titan.
The Faiialiborn, simply known as the Faiiali, were created to be creators, and became the neutral architects of civilizations. Made in the image of Elder Mekalus by Alphus and Omegus, the buglike race could build up entire cities within months if not weeks. During the rebellion against the gods, most of them left this war-torn world into the stars, and few have come back since. Modern Faiiali flock to the creator god Quanus' teachings.
The Otherborn, also known as the Aberrations, were said to have been created by the titan Vark or his attendant Varkanus. Harnessing the Plane of Madness, he claims to have created ancient races such as Illithids and the Aboleths who created vast empires across the stars and planes. Some think that Aberrations are not linked to a divine creator, but many aberrations themselves venerate Varkanus as their patron deity. Their origin can also be attested to the mysterious Monoliths and Old Ones, who were deities from the previous cosmos and unlike our own gods.
The Afterborn, also known as the Humans. The origin of humans is lost even to themselves, and there is no consensus on whether they were created by deities like the others or not. While Gunian claims to be the god-creator of mankind, actual creator gods dispute this fact. The Elven theory is that humanity simply appeared from chaos itself during the start of the two-thousand year long realm-shatter, when the churning chaos of the realms birthed many creatures. They have an evolutionary link to other ape-folk such as the Vanara, so the origins are truly in the air. Humanity's importance and perseverance is undoubtable even by the gods, and they are considered one of the first people. Humans are generally accepted to have started on the continent of Eqos, but some believe that the first humans appeared on the then-lush continent of Skion and migrated south-ward in waves as the continent got colder and colder. Regardless of whether Humans are firstborn or chaosborn, they are not counted among the creator races.
Then came the Realmshatter and its chaos in full force. New races appeared without explanation or meddling of the gods, much like the humans. These were known collectively as the Chaosborn. Whether or not humanity is among the chaosborn is debated.
Dracoborn, also known as the Dragons, were the first and greatest consequence of the Realmshatter. The chaos created the first cosmic-dragons that quickly became the three sects of dragons that we know today- Metallic, Chromatic, and Gems. Dragonkind created their own empires, and fought against the Giants. Over the course of the Realmshatter, both would be the downfall of each other, leading to the Elves, Dwarves, and Omniborn picking up the pieces and taking over the greatest empires.
Dragonborn, who were created not by gods but by powerful dragon sorcerers. Infusing their own powers into humanoid form, they created a servant race to do their bidding and be their soldiers against the Giants. Eventually, the Dragonborn revolted against their dragon creators, although some still venerate greater dragons to this day.
Giantborn, also known as Goliaths, who were created not by gods but by powerful giants. It is said that the Giants created them to be foot soldiers and great servants in response to the Dragons' creation of the Dragonborn. Eventually revolting much like them, the Goliath are now a nomadic peoples with a tribal culture distanced from the ordning of the Giants.
Aethborn, also known as Tritons, are akin to Elves with their link to celestials. They were made when the goddess Aethys laid with Sigmus in order to distract him and steal a small portion of his soul. This union infused this part of his soul into the water around them, growing golden fruit that turned into the race of Tritons. Her purpose for doing this is lost to time, some attest it to her whims or a plan of great destiny. The warrior-race venerates Aethys to this day, granting her wish of having a civilization be her own. The Tritons were entrusted by her to defend the world from water-elementals, and counter-invaded the plane of water. While they are similar to sea-elves and coexist with them, they have vastly different origins. Due to their importance later in the first era, many incorrectly assume Tritons to be among the creator races.
Orkborn, simply known as the Orcs, were said to be created when the shapeshifting god of wrath, Magmus, was in Omniborn form during a fight against Nosos. Nosos poisoned and mutated Magmus in an attack, causing his red skin to turn green. Magmus turned into the first Orc, albeit with four arms. He ejected much of this poison from his body as green sweat, which created the race of the Orcs who swore fealty to the god of destruction and helped him push Nosos back into her realm. Their warrior culture is born from this first fight that is reenacted to this day.
Goblinborn, also known as the Goblinoids, were a group of races such as Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears, that originate from the Feywild. Originally fey, they were morphed by the Realmshatter when the Shadowfell was created from the Feywild. They then spread across the realms and the material plane, creating tribes and civilizations. While often confused to be similar to Orcs, they are distinctly fey in many forms.
Vezaborn, a humanoid race created by the gods to survive every extreme environment. Their true purpose has been long lost to time, and they have spread across Voidspace and the Astral Sea.
Githborn, also known as the Gith, were a humanoid race much like humans or halflings. They were then enslaved by mind flayers for countless generations in Voidspace and beyond, and upon gaining their independence from the illithids split into two distinct subraces: Githyanki and Githzerai.
Hobborn, also known as the Halflings, were a humanoid race much like humans and gith. They showed up as mysteriously as humans on the contient of Aurial, and spread out across the lands wherever humans would go.
Gemborn, also known as the Gnomes, were a humanoid race said to either be gems that became humanoid or simply people descended from dwarves. Some even believe them to be feytouched, although this is highly debated.

One of the events during this period known as the 'Beastbirth', when the once-creator god Omegus channeled his powers into the churning chaos of the Realmshatter. Some think this was an attempt to fix it, while some others think that he purposefully amplified his powers using the chaos. His wild surge of creation magic recreated many of the beasts that surrounded him into the first beastfolk much like himself.
Felidborn, who were created during the Beastbirth by the god Omegus. They are feline beastfolk
Aviborn, who were created during the Beastbirth by the god Omegus. They were avian beastfolk, and quickly diverged into the modern day Raptorin, Owlin, Ibisin, and later the Kenku.

After the end of the Realmshatter with the realms put into place, there have been the modern eras of relative stability even through the rebellion against the gods and the second era. All the races that have been created after the Realmshatter in the previous two thousand years are known as the Newborn, and includes planetouched races that base themselves on existing ones.
Celestialborn, also known as Aasimar, are the new race formed from the divine touch of the Celestials onto any of the mortal races. They are an outsider-touched race connected to the upper planes, and have little culture of their own.
Fiendborn, also known as Tieflings, are the new race formed from the corruptive touch of the Fiends onto any of the mortal races. They are an outsider-touched race connected to the lower planes, and have little culture of their own.
Genieborn, also known as Genasi, are the new race formed from the influence and blood of the elementals known as Genies onto any of the mortal races. They are an outsider-touched race connected to the elemental planes, and have a bit more of a culture with cults related to the respective planes.
