The Floren are a humanoid plant-like race created during the Beastbirth. They are inspired by the Florans of Starbound.
They represent nature itself and can be extremely violent carnivores if they need to be. When left on their own, they have no central government or power structure, split into numerous tribes. Though they are biologically a single-sex race, they may adapt sexually dimorphic physical traits and male/female identities if they so choose.
Their primary drives are hunting, acquiring trophies, fighting, eating meat, and more hunting. It is speculated that their generally casual view towards killing and consuming other intelligent species stems from not viewing "meat" as "alive" in the same sense they are. While they can get their nourishment from photosynthesis, hunting seems to be better for them. However, more and more individuals are recognizing a need to integrate, make friends, and maybe not stab anyone that slightly inconveniences them.
Florens often have a lean and muscular build and a flower on the top of their head. They usually have green skin, but their skin and flowers can have colorations that range the entire visual spectrum, and perhaps beyond. Other plants have been known to be on a Floren's head, such as mushrooms and fly traps. They also have black bug-like eyes and a jagged mouth full of shark-like teeth.
