Vezaborn are one of the ancient species designed specifically for Abmarah. The vezaborn are a smooth-skinned humanoid species with tentacles on their head that act similar to prehensile hair. Created by an unknown ancient god, the Vezaborn were created for a sole purpose: to survive. They have been born to last, surviving everything from the cold vacuum of space to the depths of the Abyss. They have soft, smooth, and somewhat slippery skin, the color of which has almost no limitations. Vezaborn can have anything from bright yellow skin to a deep purple, and it is believed that their skin color is randomized at birth as it often doesn’t match either of the parents. Their “hair” is made up of prehensile tentacles that they do not have a lot of control over, and cannot function like limbs. However, some vezaborn seem to have much better control over these tentacles, and can grab things with them. Some vezaborn even have tails, but most do not. All of this together, it is completely chaotic what form a young vezaborn would grow into.
Having seemingly no culture of their own, they assimilate into existing cultures. Most of them even share the names and language of the omniborn, since most vezaborn of the first era lived within their Temporal Empire. Most of the vezaborn on Abmarah disappeared after the cometfall.
As one of the few species to be able to withstand vacuums, they have become travelers of the stars above and have spread across Voidspace and beyond. While some vezaborn still live on Abmarah and can be rarely found in some cities, most of them have opted to live on other planets, moons, and even other planes. Due to their extremophile nature, they can withstand living conditions hostile to most other species, such as low-oxygen caves, the extreme heat of the plane of fire, or even the toxic innards of gas-giant planets. The chaotic nature of vezaborn is apparent even when you interact with them, as they appear to be people disinterested in the mundane. Vezaborn tend to seek things that interest them, and even if they end up in professions that may seem mundane to others, it usually has an aspect that is interesting to the vezaborn in some way. For example, a vezaborn shopkeeper might seem boring from the outside, but in reality collecting and selling strange artifacts is their hobby that brings them joy. Vezaborn are also often hired for dangerous jobs that no others are willing to do. Since they are so hard to kill, vezaborn are often hired to do things like explore collapsed mines or caves full of deadly gases, dive into trenches, explore lava tubes, or even be test subjects for arcane experimentation. The vezaborn perhaps more than any other species truly do not seem to have groups of their own, and there are no known examples of a settlement only comprising of vezaborn. While this makes them easily integrate into other societies and cultures, this also unfortunately means that vezaborn tend to lack support systems and get easily wrapped up into crime or get sold into slavery. Vezaborn slaves are especially sought after in Voidspace, not dissimilar to Tieflings on Abmarah.
