Vertum Auriel is one of two Angel gods, and the brother of Mutrev. He is the orderly creator god, as well as the god of trade and messengers. He is said to be the quickest being in existence, covering the distance of entire kingdoms in seconds, with the albatross being associated with him. Serving as one of Jakuna’s “Hands of Justice” at the divine court, he tends to act as her voice of reason. He is often ironically chaotic when using creation magic, making creatures and objects according to his whims. He famously disobeyed the gods when he created the species of the Vedavin just to see if he could do it. Vertum is often considered to be the most lawful good deity in the pantheon, having a reputation of being benevolent and understanding in contrast to his ill-natured brother. However, this kind nature can also translate to naivety.
Vertum is also known to take a keener interest in mortal affairs and troubles than other deities, keeping notes on potential dangers and problems that may arise on Abmarah. He has gifted his vision and aid to many adventurers who have sought to improve the world over the years.
As an angel, he is a sibling to both his twin Mutrev as well as all other angels including Krros. By extension, as a creation of Elder Mekalus, the angels are also all siblings to the titans Jakuna, Sigmus, Deltus, Serenox, and Moros.

He is known as 'the Forgemaster' among the Dwarves, who worship him as their primary deity after after the death of their creator, Rhos, in the Omniborn Crisis.
The Vedavin consider Vertum to be their creator, but do not worship him as their patron god, instead favoring Varkanus who actually let the race succeed after Vertum was forced to abandon them.
Like many gods, his true angelic form is only known to few, and most create a visual that best suits their needs. For example, his statues have a shorter stature within dwarven lands and longer ears in elven lands. He is worshiped by merchants, traders, messengers, and even smugglers and pirates.
