The gods reward the devotion of those that worship them and follow their ideals. Characters may be devout followers, they might aim to be a god's champion, or they might've inadvertently gained the favor of a god they don't worship. GMs can reward player characters and NPCs alike with these blessings as they see fit, based on story progression, narrative weight, or even optional piety mechanics found in official books.

By their nature as divine blessings, these boons cannot be revoked by the gods if they feel like a character no longer deserves their aid. There are many stories of gods bestowing blessings that they later regretted. The strength of these blessings vary based on individual gods, as well. Gods who rarely hand out blessings tend to have stronger benefits, while gods who are widely worshiped and bless a wide number of followers have their blessings grant weaker benefits. Legends and tales speak of yogis who meditated for decades just to gain a blessing from the Elder Gods, whereas Jakuna blesses many priests and paladins every year.
