Amari is a NPC that was a part of the crew of the Phoenix Nebula. They were the ship's doctor.
Far as Belanar is to be believed, Amari was taken from their original home by smugglers and then left for dead at Tikius. A wizard put a spell onto them letting them survive in the sun, and from then on Amari grew up in the pirate city raised by pirates.
Amari learned how to be a herbalist and a doctor, and always wanted to meet fellow people like themselves. They started working at a shop called the Bloom Room alongside githzerai Fek who would help them with floral treatments to withstand the sun.
They were rescued from some raptors one day in 3E450 by the crew of the Phoenix Nebula, who Amari then joined permanently.
While on the ship, Amari spent most of their time in the lowest deck where they let a lot of mushrooms grow and fester, often causing trouble like rat infestations for the others.
