"In West Limbo born and raised,
in the Outer Realms was where I spent most of my days,
chillin' out, plantin', relaxin', all cool and shootin' some fireballs outside of the school,
when a couple of yankis who were up to no good,
started making trouble in my neighborhood.
I got in one little fight and my boss got scared,
he said 'You're movin' down to Abmarah in the Material Plane!'".
—Fek's origin, as described by Elise
Fek was a part of the Phoenix Nebula party. A Githzerai devoted to the god Magmus, he respected and served nature's wrath- especially on those that would disrupt it, such as Xaniv. For a brief period near the end of the campaign when the Abyssgate opened, he served as the Pirate Lord of Wrath. He later settled down with his partner, D'vorah.
He served as Vijay's second character in Curse of the Blood Sea after the untimely death of his first character, Urata Anlyth. He is the last known person to be in possession of the legendary starweapon, Zaenokr, something many forces tried to take from him over the years.
Biography
Early Life
Fek grew up in Limbo like any other Githzerai, and was a zealous follower of Magmus while he served the Githzerai. He grew to despise the Githyanki, Liches, and especially Illithids- All three of which would eventually overlap when he'd face Xaniv.
Eventually, after an altercation in which he grew disillusioned with the leadership of the Githzerai, he was essentially banished to the Material Plane. He ended up drifting through the Blood Sea, eventually ending up in Tikius where he could start anew with a more peaceful life that wasn't as full of violence.
While he stayed at Tikius, he opened a flower shop called the Bloom Room. He fit in with the pirates and varieties of races that liked in the city. During this stay, he would help his coworker myconid Amari withstand the sun by giving them floral treatments and magical essences.
Curse of the Blood Sea
Check the main campaign page for the detailed plot summary.
When the Siege of Tikius was impending, the crew of the The Phoenix Nebula met Fek. D'vorah immediately took a liking to him. Fek sympathised with the grieving party and then joined them once learning that they were trying to take down the illithilich Xaniv the Whisperer. The party slapped some sense into Belanar and put up a successful defense of Tikius against Volnaxokaaz and Grand Admiral Isabeau.
One of the crewmates, Cydney, then asked Laoch and D'vorah to help him with destroying the memory-experiments at the Blackwood Institute, where they also ended up rescuing Vass, a 'good' mind flayer. While Fek did not trust her at all, she proved to be good after all when Vass returned the favor by bringing the The Phoenix Nebula itself to life, and giving the now-purple ship the ability to teleport anywhere in the oceans of Abmarah. The Nebula then traveled to Sombus, where they met with Emperor Sombra himself. He pardoned them of their crimes, while asking for their help in return for his help in closing the Abyssgate. The party was to travel to the Lightless Ruins and bring back the artifact Lightclaw. After rescuing Markal Zuriel from the ruins, Fek saw a dream in which his god Magmus was fighting Ballista Aries. The party was then ambushed by Ballista Aries in reality, who they defeated. Back in Sombus, D'vorah finally took Fek on a date.
When the party decided to reconvene the The Pirate Court at Shipwreck City, they traveled across the Blood Sea and beyond to gather all the pirate lords again as well as locate Xaniv's phylactery. In the Ashpits of Casthys, they tried to reason with the Pirate Lord of Wrath, Anila Khai. He offered a one-on-one fight with Fek. Anila Khai almost killed Fek during this fight, but Fek managed to hang on and beat him. Khai still refused to reconvene, and simply gave Fek the Piece of Wrath making Fek the new Pirate Lord of Wrath. The crew then broke into a Crimson antimagic prison, rescued Laoch's parents Alastorm and Phaona, and escaped into the Plane of Fire temporarily. There, they met Israa, a shopkeeper within the City of Brass. She had a powerful axe that spoke to Fek. He bought it on credit, and agreed to bring Israa a potion of ashen blood from Varkunast later.
When the party visited Varkunast where the temple of Varkanus was being invaded by a champion of Omegus, Daskl. The party ended up beating him, and Fek received the axe for good from Israa. Only later did he learn that the axe he bought was actually the legendary Zaenokr. The party then went for Xaniv's phylactery within the Astral Sea, where they were ambushed by a party of Githyanki who Fek had to fight off. At the reconvening, Fek represented the Pirate Lord of Wrath.
Fek and the rest of the Nebula then finally sailed into the Abyssgate, defeating the Demon Prince Demogorgon with their combined powers. Xaniv the Whisperer then tried to drain Varkanus' divinity, and the final battle ensued. Fek used his boots of flying to take down Xaniv and his alhoon underlings. After the curse was lifted, the crew celebrated within D'vorah's magic mansion and then went their separate ways. D'vorah settled down with Fek, who chose to remain a florist in Tikius.
After the Abyssgate
After the campaign, Fek settled down with D'vorah and continued to care for his flowers in peace on Tikius. More than a decade later, an older Fek would face off against Lunar assassins who were trying to steal Zaenokr from him- Vortexes Zahn Zwei and Viktoria Vier. However, he quickly defeated them, nearly killing Zahn in the process.
