Known by many names in Nhera and other Realmstars. Vargenir, Moonblood or “Asu’yorei” in Valhir.

These people are the result of Sheora, the beast-realm’s influence from the Astral Sea.

Vargen may be wildborn or changeling. Wildborn Vargenir are born to Vargen parents and exhibit strong wild facet traits.

Changeling Vargen are an uncommon occurrence in primarily Hyuron communities and very rarely in others. Offspring of non-Vargenir have a strange chance of being born with the pelt, fangs, ears and tails of a beast. These 'wild children' are frequently abandoned out of fear, horror and superstition- they're just as frequently rescued by other communities or form small packs of other Vargenir.

Most Vargen have innate aversion to developed or "civilized" communities, particularly when young, but this can fade with time and many have managed to ingratiate themselves into city or township living. Not all Vargenir are abandoned by parents when born.

A Howling Moon

When the realmstars shift and travel through the Astral Sea while orbiting Asra, sometimes Sheora passes behind a moon of Nhera, causing a Vargengate, or Howling Moon. A Howling Moon has various effects on Vargen, often manifesting as an uncontrolled feral bloodlust. It can be extremely difficult to overcome, especially for younger individuals. Only the oldest Vargen have the willpower to resist the call of a Howling Moon.
