Vampire Batfolk are best known for their blood drinking reputation, required to supplement their standard humanoid diet with a regular intake of blood. Despite this off-putting fact, Vampire Batfolk tend to be social creatures, forming tight knit communities and looking out for one another.
Relations of other Races
Many are at first suspicious of the blood drinking vampire batfolk, but those who get past this initial reaction find batfolk to be reliable friends.
Physical Appearance
Batfolk are humanoid, with leathery skin in hues of black, brown, red, orange, and grey, though some also have short fur covering much of their body, except their hands, feet, and face. They have large, batlike ears, black eyes, and leathery wings that stretch under their arms to their torso, from their wrists to their waist.
Age
Vampire bats reach maturity at 4. They live about 40 years.
Size
Your size is Small.
Bite
Your fanged maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier.
Blood Feeder
In addition to the standard humanoid fare, you require the blood of other creatures to sustain you. Anytime you deal 1 or more hit points of damage using your Bite attack to a target with blood, you are able to feed on the target. If you ever go one week without feeding, you are unable to gain the benefits of a short or long rest until you feed again.
Echolocation
You have blindsight out to a range of 20 feet, but cannot use this ability while deafened.
