It is said that originally, all the lands of the Hwaelryne drifted and shifted across the surface of the world. That all mostly lived in harmony but one day there rose among the beings of the world, an Evil Creature – one filled with the corruption known as Greed. Their corruption and greed were so pure that they developed an insatiable need for power, and a hunger for total control.
And so, one by one, they took control of the different islands that floated across the surface of the Sea of Constant Drift. They filled the islands with a blight made up of fear, hatred, anger and mistrust.
But the people of Hwaelryne would not allow their world to succumb to such Evil. They fostered the Good and gathered strength of their own. Behind the Evil Creature’s back they nurtured hope, trust, joy and love. And when they had grown in numbers and strength, they gathered in force to destroy the Evil Creature once and for all.
But in its defeat, the Evil Creature rose into the sky and cursed the world one last time before they burst into smaller pieces that shot down into the depths of the ocean. And as they landed on the ocean floor, they came down with such velocity and power that the floor rose up in those places and reached the surface of the world.
