S'raku was once perhaps the hottest place in Kildar after Il-Heban. Not because of its natural environment, but because of its economy. People came here to sell dangerous magical items, and nobody cared much about safety. Almost all of the houses were made from the cheapest and most combustible wood available, leading to seemingly everlasting fires that changed the map of S'raku almost every day. It is therefore hardly surprising that this was the place where the invasion of the Lords' Alliance began.
Today, however, you will find no inhabited place less hospitable than S'raku. The city has been transformed into the Lords' Alliance's main military centre of operations in Kildar. That is now its only purpose.
Enforcers from Faerun arrive here, while demobilised soldiers leave Kildar through S'raku. Military ships resupply with ammunition and food at its military docks. Commanders of both the army and the fleet plan their operations here, and the most important and dangerous prisoners are held in S'raku's prisons.
From the outside, S'raku resembles a vast fortress, with towers, docks, and military yards. However, few can get a good look at it. The surrounding area is heavily patrolled by Lords' Alliance forces, with invisible magical eyes watching the edges of visibility. Should they detect anything suspicious, a squad can arrive within minutes to investigate.
The citadel itself is covered by Magic Suppressors, preventing anyone from observing it through magical means or launching magical attacks against it.
S'raku is now truly the wasps' nest of the Lords' Alliance. You would be wise not only not to touch it, but not even to look at it for too long.
