There is nothing left of Rhyl. Today, this is perhaps the most ominous place in the whole of Kildar. We could stop here, and you might ask, "For Rhyl?" But this is not a good place for jokes.

During the war, Rhyl was completely destroyed. The destruction was so immense that the dwarfish central citadel was torn apart, with parts of it found kilometres from its original location. Other buildings were wiped out, while the black walls of Rhyl were essentially turned into dust and scattered across the surrounding land, covering the white snow.

Most people blame the Lords' Alliance for the destruction of Rhyl, and there is some truth to it. Surprisingly, the only place that does not truly blame the Lords' Alliance for what happened is another important dwarfish city, Ironhold. The people there know the secret that was hidden beneath Rhyl.

For the Lords' Alliance, however, Rhyl was a major blow to their reputation and a sinkhole for their investments. They first tried to soften the public perception of their involvement by searching for survivors. This was largely unsuccessful—they found only a handful of survivors. That search also uncovered another problem. Whatever had been hidden beneath Rhyl was gone. This was not only frightening, but also meant that no evidence that could prove the Lords' Alliance's innocence could be found.

After the search for survivors failed, the Lords' Alliance attempted to establish a new settlement in the area. However, the harsh northern conditions, the lack of resources, and the fact that there was essentially no practical reason to build there made the attempt a failure. The only people who remained near Rhyl were the survivors and the relatives of those who were never found. Over time, they formed a small camp beside the ruins, refusing to abandon the place where their home, families, and history had been lost.

In the end, the Lords' Alliance tried to erect a memorial to those who had died in the battle. Even this proved unsuccessful. The weakened ground gave way beneath the memorial, and the monument collapsed into the enormous hole left behind by the destruction of Rhyl.
