Many regions of Ignisar, especially the Dragonstone Archipelago and The Depths are charged with a strange energy that imbues the ground with special characteristics. Specialists in transmutation magic can enhance gemstones to absorb spells, allowing them to be used similarly to a spell scroll.

Using the stone
A Spellstone can contain one spell. You become aware of the spell when you learn the stone's properties. While holding the stone, you can cast the spell from it as an action, bonus action or reaction, depending on the imbued spell. Doing so doesn‘t require any components and doesn't require attunement. The spell then disappears from the stone.
If the spell is of a higher level than you can normally cast. You must make an ability check using your spell-casting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a failed check. the spell disappears from the stone with no effect.
(A creature that has no innate spell-casting feature can still try using either Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma. (Spell Save DC defaults to 8+INT/WIS/CHA+PRF, Attack Bonus defaults to INT/WIS/CHA+PRF.)

Imbuing the stone
Each spellstone has a maximum level for the spell it can store. You can imbue the spellstone with a spell if you're attuned to it and it's empty. To do so, you cast the spell while holding the stone. The spell is stored in the stone instead of having any effect. The spell's level must be no higher than the stone's maximum. If the spell requires material components that are consumed, you must provide them. Once imbued with a spell. The stone can't be imbued again until the next dawn.
Spellstones are based on a Spell Gem from Out of the Abyss
