Aquats are amphibious elves who primarily live underwater. They build secluded settlements beneath the waves, away from the rest of civilization, including other elven kin. Most Aquats perished in the early ages of the world, and those who remain seldom visit the surface. Fierce and wilder than most elves, Aquats tend to be unfriendly toward creatures outside their kin. Their nature allows them to dominate the underwater realm and equips them with abilities to withstand its many dangers.
The Aquats never followed the Amar, Laira, to the eastern isle after the Great War. Instead, they claimed the Vitallian oceans as their own, building vast underwater cities far from the reach of other civilizations. In their struggle to control the southern seas, they clashed with the Shanah and were later hunted and slaughtered by human pirates and raiders who followed in their wake. Now, the Aquats remain in their hidden underwater kingdoms, wary of all outsiders—even other elves.
