History

Establishment

In the year 892 BF, a group of Auresian settlers crossed the treacherous waters of the Midal Sea and established the colony of Tereona on the shores of a vast, unknown island. The land was rich with resources, and the settlers quickly established trade with the native peoples, forging alliances and learning from each other.

Independence

However, the colony’s ties to the Auresian Empire were soon severed when a brutal civil war tore through the mainland. Tereona found itself cut off from its motherland and forced to fend for itself. It was a difficult time for the colony, but it also proved to be a time of growth and independence.

During this period of self-discovery, its people developed a unique culture that blended Auresian traditions with those of the native peoples of the continent to the east. The Tereonans became known for their mastery of trade, their skillful navigation of the Midal Sea, and their love of music, dance, and art.

Portigoa Dispute

But Tereona’s expansion also brought conflict with its parent nation, particularly over the now micro island nation of Portigoa. After a hard-fought war, Portigoa was ceded to Tereona. However, the Portigoans, unwilling to fully embrace their new overlord won their freedom 22 years later.
