Contact - The Siphon's Discovery

Necrosis

After 'The Siphon' was first mentioned in a PDA retrieved by Annalise Mikage and Lina Zheng several weeks prior, the knowledge of it would plague and haunt the Kommando cadre almost out of nowhere. They, and some other bioresonant subjects, would go on to report that their minds were being claimed by some kind of entity that wanted them to retrieve the artefact for it. Mental projections of a Falke Commander were noted, in which it stated that it originated from Cantor-01 and required immediate help.

One of the kidnapped Imperials from a previous mission would be brought up and interrogated by Kolibri 'Uta' with a few spectators, in which it was evident that he knew of what the artefact was and where it was located. 'Uta' would go on to attempt to claim his memory, but the visage of The Siphon would be imprinted into her head— accompanied with a mental projection of who wanted to wield this power. A malevolent being, with its power so extraordinary that it would go on to make itself physically known. The Imperial's head suddenly exploded during interrogation, in which his body was quickly discarded as the Kolibri cadre spoke amongst each other regarding the provided information.

The Volksmilitar would eventually schedule an expedition out into the Imperial Sector, where a heap of the remaining Proto-Cultists attempted to push back the National forces to no avail. They were quickly overran by sheer firepower and numbers, with Cantor-13's men and women crashing some kind of ritual being performed by a male Machine Servant wielding the artefact they had been looking for.

After a long battle, he would be taken down by a revolver to the head. The Siphon was relinquished and its power sucked itself back into the object once he could no longer utilize it, in which Cantor-13 would then lay its hands onto it. They felt the only way to contain it to keep its immense power from destroying the facility was to lock it up in the SAPR Stasis Bay, leaving it there to rot until studied.

But its power continued to leak through. It didn't seem like there was much that could contain or hold it in place, with some creatures popping in and out of Cantor-13 in an attempt to retrieve it. Some individuals began hearing whispers, or even a full voice calling to them to take the power for themselves.
