Life in Cantor-13 was as mundane and regular as ever, with the facility acting as one of the few blockade checkpoints taking in and spitting out Nationals on a daily basis. An average cycle was both eventful and uneventful at the same time, with it being a laxer experience compared to other installations one would be typically assigned to. But with the growing political tension down in Vineta, it was only a matter of time before the fragmented parts of the moon would be targeted by the Empire's wrath. In the early hours of 78-1-15, those in Cantor-13 begun to feel the facility shake and rumble under their feet-- rocking the entire checkpoint by its core.
The surface sector's doors were blasted open, and unspeakable horrors were unleashed to the general populace. Those underneath the moon's surface, deep down in the facility itself, could only hear the rapid thumps of gunfire and bodies dropping to the floor. A large group of personnel were able to run inside of a bulkhead as a heap of Protektorate battled off whatever they could, before the hulking metal doors closed in on themselves. As soon as they did, the ambiance of battle in the distance suddenly stopped out of nowhere.
A cycle prior, the entire facility was abundant with life. Now, the facility was practically abandoned-- filled with nothing but debris, a few surviving refugees, and utter despair. It was rightfully assumed by those who managed to escape that the friends and colleagues they've ran past are dead as they know it. There remained roughly ten or so staff left in Cantor-13, forced to revamp as much as they could in their current space and make use of their surroundings. Food and water were scarce, and so was electricity and other accommodations.
