During a routine expedition on March 11th, a group of Volksmilitär was suddenly ambushed and attacked by a band of individuals wearing Phobos suits — screaming beyond their masks praising and praying as though they were apostles. When the expedition team took them down, they would eventually come to find out that the Imperials had managed to survive whatever happened on the day of the Empire's siege way back in January.
Eventually, it would be learned that the Imperials in Cantor-13 had somehow been decimated alongside the facility's staff from some kind of weapon that they utilized to make their initial move. Large squadrons and regiments would run throughout the large installation, hiding in every nook and cranny to try and save themselves from impending doom. In due time, they would come to create small factions to re-organize themselves and relive the glory days of the Empress.
Large groups of them would be assimilated into one another to rebuild Imperial regiments out of small, disjointed squads. A divide was born, in which Imperial cultists were formed from the ground up to worship the biomass and bioresonance as a whole — while the others were an elite task force of Imperial Kommandos running what was dubbed as 'The Imperial Sector'; an entire section of Cantor-13 that had been illuminated in their signature color scheme.
The Kommandos would go on to outlast the cultists in survivability, prowess and power — with the 'Proto-Covenant' having been taken down by Cantor-13's forces fairly easily. However, the Kommandos were led by a powerful bioresonant Gestalt who would refer to himself as the Prefekt-Baron, — using his power to further his advance in reclaiming the victory that was felt to rightfully belong to himself and his Empire.
