The adventurers burst into a common room filled with Redbrand bandits, immediately engaging them in a fierce battle. The narrow confines of the hideout made for a chaotic melee, with Erik and Bjorn holding the line against the swarming thugs. Breith bolstered his allies with a divine blessing, while Nissa and Clara provided ranged support with arrows and magic. The fight was a brutal affair, with the party taking heavy blows but ultimately slaughtering the bandits.

After looting the bodies and the gambling stakes left on a table, the party discovered a secret door in the wizard's chambers they had previously cleared. The passage led back to the main cavern, so they returned to the common area to continue their exploration. They found another door, behind which they could hear the gruff voices of goblins bullying someone. Preparing for another fight, they threw open the door to find a room full of bugbears tormenting a small goblin named Droop.

The ensuing battle was even more desperate than the last. The massive bugbears swarmed the doorway, grappling and pummeling Erik, who was dragged into the room. The party fought with everything they had, with Bjorn holding the doorway against the monstrous onslaught and Clara unleashing powerful spells. Erik was knocked unconscious, his life hanging by a thread. The party, with the surprising and brief assistance of Droop, fought tooth and nail, eventually felling the last of the bugbears. Breith, using a healer's kit, managed to stabilize Erik just in time.

With the Redbrand hideout finally cleared, the party took a long rest to recover and reflect on their new abilities, having grown stronger from the ordeal. They gathered the body of the slain carpenter, Thel, and their two captured Redbrand prisoners. They also decided to take the narcoleptic goblin, Droop, under their wing. Emerging into the daylight, they returned Thel's body to his grieving family and marched their prisoners to the townmaster. In recognition of their heroic deeds, the townmaster gifted them a house in Phandalin to serve as their base of operations. Their final stop was to Sister Garaele, a local cleric of Tymora, who thanked them for their service and offered them a new quest: to seek out a banshee named Agatha and inquire about a legendary spellbook, a task Clara eagerly accepted.
