Hravnskar Rising

The Hravnskar Rising was the Skorvann revolt against Khargorathi rule that began in the city of Hravnskar in 1267 AB. What began as an urban and regional uprising spread rapidly across the northern islands as local governments, militias, naval communities, and armed volunteers joined the rebellion. The revolt drew upon long-standing Skorvann resentment of Khargorathi rule and a strong sense of cultural and religious identity that predated the empire by thousands of Cycles (each equal to 1.4608 Veyrathian years).

As the Third Arvessan War of Succession weakened Khargorath and drew its military resources onto multiple fronts, the uprising developed into a full war of independence. The island governments and rebel forces increasingly coordinated their military and political efforts, eventually forming the Northern League of Defence. Skorvann forces fought to expel Khargorathi authority from the archipelago and secure recognition as an independent state.

The war ended in 1273 AB with the Concord of Vraakheld. Khargorath formally recognized Skorvann independence alongside the other breakaway states created during the war. The former wartime alliance was reorganized under the Charter of Hravnskar into the Skorvann League, with Hravnskar as its federal capital.
