King Vyth Bar'hamir XII

His late majesty King Vyth of Bar'hamir XII was the only son of H.L.M. King Valamir. He was also the longest Vyth to hold the office, having been appointed around 80-83GE and serving until 718GE when he was slain by the Herald of Woe.

Bar'hamir was in exile for most of his tenure as King, beginning his exile the night before his father's death. In the intervening years he served as Vyth in secret on the surface, away from the Protectorate, Wardens Pryor served in his stead during this time. His late majesty made a triumphant return around the end of the Marrowfiend crisis in late 717GE and served as monarch for the few intervening weeks between his return to the capital and tragic death.

Bar'hamir was the last of his lineage and thus had no heirs. As a result he was forced to pass the monarchy to another house. He chose His Majesty Bardax of House Virconia, a hero of the Marrowfiend Crisis and gifted psion. Many believe this was at the suggestion of his advisor, Aramis Virconia, in line to become the Patriarch of the Virconian house.

Similarly, Bar'hamir needed to appoint a successor to the title of Vyth, defender of the Bahamutan faith. This title, however, is seldom hereditary. Despite this, Bar'hamir's choice once again stunned political onlookers as he chose a paladin from the Heroes to take his place. This is notable for the Inquisitors had declared Vyth XIII to be a traitor and heretic in 716GE. The high priest has granted official clemency to allow Vyth XIII to serve in his capacity. Vyth XIII is currently fulfilling his vow of solitude in an unknown location which is due to end in 726GE.

In honor of the hero king, H.M. Virconia erected a statue of Bar'hamir in royal garden cemetery where his body was committed.
