His Majesty Bardax Virconia, first of his line, is the current King of the Holy Kingdom of Atraxia. He derives his holy mandate to rule from the written will of His Late Majesty Vyth of Bar'hamir XII. He has been met with great acclaim from the general populace for his role in defeating the Herald of Woe, ending the Marrowfiend Crisis. This in addition to his role in bringing the traitor, Rhogar Azudine, to justice. He is also deeply revered by the followers of the Bahamutan faith for his close friendship with the former and current Vyths. Bahamutan worshipers believe he is uniquely blessed, chosen for his role as King.

Virconia's political reception, however, has been much more middling. The Quint'rath has expressed feelings of resentment for being overlooked for ascension to the throne. This was not helped by Virconia's house taking the seat of the Azudines, a long lived and stable house in the Great Five. To make matters worse, His Majesty is something of a maverick and idealist whose forward thinking has been met with opposition.
