As the party wakes up and talk a tiny bit about their night, Flint notices that Fang doesn't want to talk, doesn't want to switch to make fun of Lirithyn, and with the mention of breakfast he stills stays silent. In Jaylienne Bramblebrook 's kitchen area where the group goes for some early breakfast, the three meet Angelica Khartheim, She explains she is somewhat of a seer, however most of her abilities tied to seeing in to the future have been cut of do to the suppression of the sourcecollar. She asks if she still could do the reading for Lirithyn, Brynn and Flint. Which Brynn and Lirithyn agree to but Flint is on the fence and doesn't agree with it in the beginning but after Brynn and Lirithyn's reading, he agrees to let his future being read.
Lirithyn's Future
“Snow swallows a beautiful beach… yet under the bed of snow lays a sleeping dragon, frozen scales that glimmer under the snow. Its are weary, restless, not wrathful. It does not roar, it calls to you. It asks for your hand, not your arrow. Do you save his soul or will it take yours instead.”
Flint's Future
“I see a woman with brown flowy hair, her skin painted with serpents that coil and breathe along her arms. Her gaze is sharp, but her hands reach for you, not to strike, but to steady. Beauty and danger entwined, yet she leans toward mercy. Do you see through her or will she look right through you.”
Brynn's Future
“A feast waits before you… roasted meats, sugared fruits, spiced wines, all gleaming beneath glaze and firelight. The smell is tempting, the sight enchants. But peel back the first layer of sweetness… and beneath the gold lies to rot, seeping, waiting to be tasted. Is it the darkness that draws you in or is it something closer to you that wants to see you fail.”
Lirithyn asks if the sights in to the future are real events or subject to interpretation, however Angelica explains, her gift only goes so far with a collar that suppresses her Source. After that they talk a little bit further and they find out that Angelica, and her mom lived in the Dradeorin Dynasty, the City that is almost entirely made up of Dragonborn and Kobolds. She also exclaims that her mother took part in this the Rite of Ascension a few years ago, where she unfortunately got beaten in the last round during the Trial of Strength by Kraccuth Kilmash the current King of Dradeorin. Her mother is now in a council member in the Dynasty aiding Kilmash in his leadership as King.
After breakfast the group decides to go the the river that separates the prison camp and the fort. As Brynn, saw parts of a building under the riverbed, which Fang decided to investigate by jumping in the water a day before. However before they could get there they found Azura talking to another Tiefling, that had a dagger behind her back, which was covered in dried blood. She wasn't ambushing Azura, she was hiding the knife from a young innocent girl. Azura was talking to ''Ishmara'' and asked of Ishmara if she could assist with a ritual that would be able to locate Azura's parents.
The group quickly acted and forced themselves into the conversation. Brynn tells Azura they could do the ritual of finding her parents together in the evening if Azura could find berries, twigs, mushrooms and seashells. Together Brynn and Azura would bring their found flora together and try a ritual together, in order for Azura to not have to go to Ishmara instead. Ishmara does not resist but tells the group that she could be of assistance in a heartbeat, with any ritual spell they so desire, as long as they give her something in return. The group also finds out that Ishmara could not stash away her dagger as it is stuck to her hand. Besides that Ishmara actively hides her collar with a spell, since it "Doesn't match her outfit".
After the creepy encounter they walk to the river where they saw the tunnel under the water. Jara Idanos is there as well looking at hut across the river, she explains that Viv and her gang of misfits took 5 barrels of good of Dradeorin alcohol that washed up on shore for themselves. The group sees that the tunnel directly goes towards the hut, so they decide to help Jara, with the possibility of seeing what's under the basement.
After knocking on the door of the hut, Inside they spot Vivian, Xavier and Korrin. Viv sees no value in giving up the barrels of alcohol that THEY have found, so they best just be on their way out. After leaving Xavier pops out, and tells the group that if they find a way to confront her, that he will be on their side, since Viv needs to be knocked of her high-horse. He tells the group that Sylas and Korrin will probably be on her side. After Xavier goes back inside, Flint and Lirithyn, come up with a plan to loudly start talking about gambling games, which Korrin falls for. He tells the group that if he wins the barrels stay here, but if the group wins, they give them back to the camp on the condition that their group is also allowed to drink from them. He exclaims that if it comes down to it, he and Sylas will be on the groups side, but Xavier will be on Viv's side since he is a follower.
After going inside to get Sylas they managed to lose the pebble throwing game, by Korrin being distracted by Brynn's irresistible charms. They manage to go and convince Viv to give the barrels to the camp. When both groups are leaving to the camp with the alcohol, Flint stays behind, to look for the basement. he manages to break open a plank and finds the stairs to the basement.
After Viv's group and Brynn and Lirithyn come back, Flint tells the group that he saw a broken plank and the group convince Viv to go and sleep in the camp instead, because of the risk of the planks breaking and them falling down a big 30ft pit. Viv failing to hide her feelings for the dark and the fear of falling, they decide it's best to go back to camp.
The group however sees the perfect opportunity to go down in to the unexplored basement. Walking down the stairs in to the hallway they spot barrels filled with rusted tools, blankets, cloths, rope and other stuff. They notice that the ceiling of the hallway is leaking water, this is most likely the tunnel they saw above the river. Going further in to the basement they notice a book on a table, and 6 pots in a line. As Lirithyn opens the book, all the torches magically light up. The book opens up to a page with a cryptic message, a sort of puzzle that opens a door that is on the other side of the room, behind a Statue of a smirking man with a cape wearing a crown.
Lirithyn hears murmuring coming from a hallway and notices two magisters talking to each other, they mention something about a basement dweller. But he decides to go back to the group to help with the cryptic text
Looking through the other rooms they spot a room with cells, that hold 2 men, standing, covered in a layer of dust, staring straight ahead. Inside their locked cell they spot a scroll with a drawing of a skull and the text 'Death' under it. A word that matches the vague text in the book, after searching a little longer they manage to find the 'Sun' and 'Moon' scrolls. Inside another room, which seems to be a library, Lirithyn gets spooked by another silent man, looking straight into Lir's soul, its breathing and worst of all not locked up like the other two. In the library they find the other scrolls and a scroll that lays next to the feet of the man, that Brynn joinks away with mage hand, the man doesn't act however.
After a little while they manage to solve the puzzle and place the scrolls in the correct pots, after a little bit of doubt they decide to burn the scrolls with one of the torches on the walls. They all lit up first in a normal red flame, but after all have been lit, the flames turn blue. The statue turns around, towards the door that now opens up. Inside they find a ladder going upwards toward a latch and 6 crates filled with produce. They decide to put the crates back in the big room, so it's not behind the door anymore for them to take upstairs to camp after exploring the last two rooms.
Inside one door the can hear murmuring of a prayer being spoken over and over again. being spooked by the presence of a person close by they decide to investigate the other room first, finding a abandoned blacksmithing room covered in thick layer of ash. In the rubble they spot a in pristine condition cloth, with no burn marks and no ash on top of it, which they decide to take with.
While Flint, takes a rope to lock the hatch in place by tying it to the ladder he hears a instrument being played a little further away, while Lirithyn investigates the other room. He finds a chapel with a priest kneeled infront of the altar speaking a prayer over and over. The priest on further investigation looks to be locked in place due to the layer of dust everywhere, the dried lips from speaking the prayer and the sweat dripping from the man. In a attempt to stop the priest from his prayer Lirithyn decides to knock the priest out in order for the prayer to be stopped. However as soon as the priest falls to the ground a yellow lined demonic ritual circle starts forming. The priest wakes up goes back to his position and hastily recovers his prayer, which slows down the lines that are forming. In a desperate attempt from Lirithyn he decides to try to hit the priest again by knocking him out. Causing the ritual to speed up again. The priest tries to get back up again to get back to his prayer almost like he doesn't even acknowledge that someone is disrupting him, however he can't get a word out anymore as something is crawling under his skin.
His jaw breaks open and two demon hands claw out the mans mouth followed by the rest of the demon's body. The winged demon, spots Lirithyn and immediately goes for an attack on him, while the Priest falls down to the ground unconscious, after experiencing excruciating pain by the demon.
The group tries to leave the room in to the other side of the door, where the demon blocks the path for Lirithyn after a few tries to manage to kick the demon away, and Brynn shoots a starry wisp to one of the pots that falls over, making the statue turn back and the door starts to close, the demon tries to push his way trough the already closing door and Flint that is pushing the door further close, finally he manages with the help of Lirithyn to close the door entrapping the demon on the other side, with the priest. The group bolts to the stairs, but not before Brynn takes the unscathed scrolls out of the pots with her.
On the beach they decide to spend a few hours to hold watch, incase the demon breaks out. The group does not know where the ladder leads to, but they think it will be under the fort itself. They decide to ask Sir Pip to investigate the fort, to see if he can find out if the demon is unleashing his wrath in the fort.
Brynn decides to go to Jaylienne, asking for lunch to be taken with for the four of them, while she asks for a favor. ''Please make sure to keep everyone inside the camp at least for today'' Jaylienne agrees to it trusting Brynn's words. Talks of a party this evening are going around camp like wildfire, and she is already preparing to make a special evening for what it's worth.
Going back to Flint and Larry, she busts out a tune, and Flint and her talk a little bit about music and flint takes out the handcrafted drum that Fang made during his trial. Trying to play some beats on the drum Brynn hears the demonic voice once again; 'Bad' 'Terrible'
She explains that she heard that voice last night in her dreams, but now she heard them as well. She explained that the voice, said to embrace chaos and that it will show her what others will fear.
After a little while they hear a contraption in the air, as they look up they see a flying contraption hit a treetop and falling down, the hut, right next to Brynn. A basket full of 2 day old bread, a new Flute, and a pouch with 50 gold are under the contraption. As Lirithyn tries to pick something out the basket a two voices can be heard from the contraption. It's Brynn's parents. From what it sounds like they barely figured out themselves if this mechanical flying thing is working or not. They ask if Brynn is having a nice day, wherever she is. What Brynn notices is that her parents tell her to keep hiding her thing from others. She remembers that her parents used to cover for her when her wild magic surged up.
After a little bit of a memory lane for Brynn, they decide to hide the contraption in the rubble next to Viv's hut and go down the basement to see if the demon is still locked behind the door and take the crates to go camp.
