Next Session: 1/25/26 12:00pm CT
Boss Fight Prep: We ended the session immediately upon entering the Herald's Garden. Please ensure your HP, Spell Slots, and consumable counts are accurate before we roll initiative next time.
Reminder: Flint, Amani, and Odra all noticed specific weaknesses/mechanics during the previous fight. Review the "Key Developments" from last session.
Last we left off…
The woods weren't just watching; they were weeping.
Pushing deeper into the corrupted sector of Len's Hollow, the party shared the psychic and sensory burdens of the land—Z'ed tasting ash, Odra feeling the molecular vibration of the ritual, and Amani smelling the allure of trapped souls.
The silence broke when the Stitched Guardians—failed subjects of the Syndicate's experiments—dropped from the canopy. In a telling display of instinct, the creatures ignored Odra and swarmed Bruin, attempting to tear him down. The party rallied with a mix of necromancy, elemental summons, and alchemical support to survive the ambush.
As the dust settled, the "autopsy" revealed the horror of the Hydra Protocol. These weren't natural mutations; they were draconic hosts stitched with fiendish biology, held together by fungal vines and anchor nodes.
The path ended at The Herald's Garden. You stand now before a massive oak, bolted with iron and pumped with violet fluid. Suspended in a web of oily tubes lies The Herald—a corrupted druid awaiting birth. The air smells of ozone and opportunity.
The Herald's Fall: The creature was a conduit for the Hydra Protocol, kept alive by soul-infusion. Its destruction has destabilized the Syndicate's hold on the region's leylines.
Maroon Memories: Amani's uncle (Murderlegs) used Dugan as an unwitting mule for arms dealing. This betrayal of trust casts a shadow over Amani's mission.
Planar Phasing: The bodies found in the garden were "stuck" between planes, confirming that the Syndicate is meddling with barriers between The Sheltered Plane and Breythalen, potentially others.
The Herald (Deceased): Frozen and destroyed.
Dugan Vahlibarg: Alive, but revealed to be tragically negligent. He remains in Len's Hollow, unaware of how he was used.
Phased Equipment: Items recovered from the bodies that were trapped between planes (See Loot Sheet).
LEVEL UP: All characters have advanced to Level 8. Please update your sheets, select new feats, and apply ability boosts before the next session.
Ensure all HP is restored and resources are reset for the journey to Borana.
Narrative:
Amani: How do you carry the weight of the "Maroon Memories" secret? Do you tell the party, or keep your uncle's sins hidden?
Odra & Bruin: You nearly died. Does this close call change how you approach the next leg of the journey?
