The Herald, fueled by a slurry of stolen souls, nearly tore Odra and Bruin apart while regenerating every wound inflicted upon it. Panic set in as Flint succumbed to the screams of the damned, flailing in the chaos, while Amani made a dark choice—consuming the souls in the tank to fuel her own power.
That choice broke the Herald's aura, snapping Flint back to reality. With clarity returned, the alchemist turned the Syndicate's "garbage engineering" against them. A critical adjustment to the pressure valves reversed the flow, replacing the soul-vitae with freezing coolant. The Herald froze like a winter tree, the sap in its veins turning to ice as it fell silent forever.
As the machinery died, the Planar Tear sealed. Bodies that had been phased between the Feywild and the Shadow Plane solidified, leaving behind strange treasures.
Back in Len's Hollow, the victory felt hollow. Amani urged Dugan to leave the shop he had built, but he refused, claiming it felt like home. It was then she found the ledger entry for "Maroon Memories." The truth was stark: Murderlegs hadn't stolen from Dugan; he had used Dugan's own negligence to smuggle weapons right under his nose.
