Last we left off…

The woods have eyes, and they are not all natural.

Following the trail of "Null Rods" and Syndicate machinery, the Boundless Few pushed deeper into the warped canopy of Len's Hollow. You discovered a disturbing truth: the Syndicate isn't just drilling; they are stitching. A note revealed the "Hydra Protocol"—an attempt to bind fiendish souls to draconic hosts.

The journey culminated at a surreal campsite where Syndicate guards sat frozen in a "Fey Feast," their faces hidden by wooden masks. The tea party was a trap. The guards were hollow puppets, animated by vines and shadow. You learned the hard way that void magic only knits their flesh together, while alchemical fire brings them the release of ash.

Standing over the disintegrated remains of the caravan, you found a final, chilling journal entry: "The Queen is not just reclaiming the woods; she is building a court... she needs nobles of high blood to fill the seats."

Key developments and revelations

Lore & Plot

  • The Hydra Protocol: Odra confirmed that the bodies are the result of the Lux Arcanum ritual gone wrong—a forced fusion of Draconic and Fiendish essence.

  • The Soul Tank: Amani discovered that the "Stitched Guardians" possessed no souls. Instead, their essence—and likely the essence of the forest—is being funneled into the massive tank connected to The Herald.

  • Anchor Nodes: Flint identified metallic nodes on the spines of the creatures. These artificial anchors were keeping the bodies animated; destroying the host caused the node to fail and the body to disintegrate.

👥 NPCs Met/Changed

  • Stitched Guardians (Failed Subjects): Ambush predators driven by instinct to destroy "natural" rivals (Bruin) while protecting "successful" experiments (Odra).

  • The Herald: The Boss entity. Currently suspended in the extraction machinery, regenerating via the soul-fluid pumps.

Between Sessions

Between Sessions (Homework)

Action items for the players to complete before the dice roll again.

  • Mechanical: Roll Initiative. (If not done at the very end of the session).

  • Narrative:

    • Flint: You noticed the machinery is "Explosive Garbage." Think about how you might want to interact with the pumps next session.

    • Amani: The tank is full of souls. Vorath (your Grimoire) is likely whispering about the power contained within. How do you plan to handle that temptation?
