Anfyn is a goblin city with a very rich history. It was founded by goblins who broke free from the oppressive god Maglubiyet and began to revere Lady Elaine, the Fey Lady who taught them ideals of freedom, redemption, and resistance against oppression. Anfyn soon became the Goblin Holy Land and the center of Lady Elaine's Crusade.
The city grew rapidly into a powerful goblin stronghold, mixing goblin culture with the influence of the Feywild. During the war against the Guilds, Anfyn joined forces with the Lords' Alliance and helped conquer Stormhaven, gaining significant territory in the process. Its Grand Wall protected the valley, while Elaine's Harbor became home to a fleet of goblin pirate ships. Anfyn seemed to be at the height of its power.
Then Brukkar Palehide challenged the Crusaders' interpretation of Lady Elaine's teachings, claiming that their crusade was not what Lady Elaine truly wanted. His challenge divided the city and eventually led to a five-year civil war. The war devastated Anfyn, destroying its fleet, economy, and much of its infrastructure.
The conflict was finally stopped when the leaders, including Brukkar, went to the Temple of Ascension to ask Lady Elaine to judge their dispute. They swore that no Crusader would fight another until the chiefs returned.
Three years later, nobody has returned.
Anfyn is now a wounded, leaderless city trying to rebuild. The Fey are restoring the land, Shadowfell refugees are building a new community, and the goblins themselves are slowly finding their way forward. Its glorious past is behind it — but what Anfyn becomes next is still entirely uncertain.
