A brief history of the organization, significant events, and its evolution over time.

Structure

Locations

The Forgebound Brotherhood operates several large forges across Kildar, with their headquarters in Ironhold, but also a significant precense in the Ironclad District of Stormhaven. The guild runs a strict apprenticeship program, where young smiths learn from the best, spending years honing their craft under the watchful eyes of seasoned masters. Many of these apprentices go on to work in specialized areas like weapon forging, armor crafting, or delicate metalwork, depending on their talents.

Leadership: Guildmaster Thorak Stonegrip

Thorak Stonegrip, a muscular dwarf, often works bare-chested, save for his apron, with tightly wrapped bandages across his chest that act as medieval binders. The bandages reveal slight bumps, and from behind, his ribs appear somewhat dented. He chose the name "Thorak" himself, feeling his birth name no longer suited him. His grandmother refuses to acknowledge the change, still calling him by his old name, which frustrates Thorak, leading him to speak with her less frequently.

With a long history in both metalworking and battle, leads the Forgebound Brotherhood. Thorak is known for his no-nonsense attitude and his ability to transform raw ore into masterful creations. He earned his place as guildmaster after winning a city-wide smithing competition and creating an unbreakable chain for the city's defenses. Thorak is often seen with soot on his face, a hammer at his side, and a fierce passion for his craft. His family has been involved in smithing for generations, and his craftsmanship is unparalleled in the city.

Guild Traditions

Winners earn not only the title of Forge Champion, but also prestigious commissions from the city's nobility and adventurers. It's a day of celebration and camaraderie among the city's metalworkers, with live demonstrations and lessons for younger generations.

Influence

The Forgebound Brotherhood holds significant sway within the Stormhaven's political and economic spheres. Their services are indispensable to both the city guard and private merchants. The guild is also rumored to have secret ties with some of the more questionable factions in Stormhaven, providing weapons and armor to mercenaries, pirates, and less-than-lawful groups operating in the shadows. However, any accusations of illicit dealings are quickly and fiercely denied by the guildmaster.
