Timberheart

Bathed in dappled sunlight filtering through ancient branches, this sanctuary is cherished by both the Pouchfoots and the Wolffolk of Howlstead.

Hidden deep within the sacred forests northwest of Howlstead, Timberheart is a secluded settlement where the Wolffolk live in quiet harmony with the Pouchfoots. The settlement spreads along the edges of a grove said to be quietly watched over by Dragonlord Sylvirix.

Though not many of the Wolffolk revere him, all of them instinctively protect the ancient grove, knowing the forest itself thrives under his unseen guardianship.

The oldest part of the settlement is a cluster of treehouses connected by rope bridges. As the settlement expanded over time, more traditional buildings began to surround the treehouses. Life in Timberheart follows the rhythms of the forest—hunting, foraging, and communal projects are done with careful attention to the creatures and trees around them.

Sylvirix’s presence is subtle but unmistakable. Travelers might notice patterns in the growth of trees, a faint shimmer in the leaves, or the gentle sway of branches where no wind blows—small signs that the forest itself watches over the settlement. Outsiders are rare, and those who arrive must earn trust carefully. Timberheart thrives not on trade, tradition, or politics, but on a quiet balance with the natural world.

Arborwhispering

Timberheart is a place where both the Pouchfoots and Wolffolk participate in an ancient practice named Arborwhispering. It is the art of listening to the subtle voices of the forest—the creak of branches, the rustle of leaves, and the quiet murmurs that flow through the roots of ancient trees.

At the heart of the forest stand the Eldertrees, towering oaks believed to hold the memory of the forest itself. Those trained in Arborwhispering can sense fragments of the past and fleeting glimpses of the future carried in the Eldertrees’ whispers.

Occasionally, the patterns of growth, the shimmer of leaves, or the peculiar sway of branches hint at something greater watching over the forest—something silent, patient, and vast. Many suspect that the subtle influence guiding these messages is the work of Sylvirix, whose protection allows the forest—and Timberheart—to endure.
