The Dragonsage Plains stretch wide and wind-swept across the heart of Ignisar, a sea of tall grasses that ripple like water beneath the sky. Unlike so many of the surrounding territory. The Dragonsage Plains were spared the scars of the Era of Beasts. While kingdoms burned and borders shifted, this place endured, timeless and unbroken.
At the center rises Dragon’s Hill, a natural wonder shaped uncannily like a slumbering dragon. Its flat-topped ridges trace out wings and tail, while a jagged row of white stone juts skyward like the beast’s spines. To stand upon the hill at dawn, when the stones catch the light, is to feel the breath of something ancient still lingering in the earth.
The Plains are not remembered only for their beauty. It was here, upon these grasses, that the Accords for Peace were signed between Therans and Humans—a moment that reshaped Ignisar. Yet older stories persist, half-remembered and rarely written down, of a figure known only as Julius. Human or dwarf, no one can agree; but all agree he was no ordinary warrior. Julius is said to have carved runes of strange design into his armor and blades, blessings so potent that steel seemed to sing when wielded.
Some claim his spirit lingers still. Travelers whisper of a shadowy figure wandering the Plains at dusk, always just out of reach. When pursued, the figure vanishes, leaving only a single rune etched freshly into a nearby stone. Those who touch such runes speak of blessings—an eased wound, a ward against ill luck, or a sudden clarity of purpose. Whether Julius was a mortal, a saint, or something more is unknown, but the Plains seem to carry his presence like the wind carries a song. The Dragonsage Plains remain both sanctuary and symbol: vast, quiet, eternal, where harmony and mystery walk side by side.
