Arlèn’ton

Arlèn'ton is a coastal town perched near the Sevenfold–Concordian border, where the salt air mingles with a faint perfume of wildflowers carried down from the nearby cliffs.

Once larger and more prosperous, Arlèn'ton has since settled into a life of resilience and reflection. Its beaches, though modest, are fondly remembered by travelers as places of stillness—where the horizon feels endless, and the sea whispers of history long forgotten.

The architecture of Arlèn'ton carries echoes of Arnewynd’s past. Low, whitewashed stone homes with timber frames lean toward the sea, reminiscent of pre–Throne War Arnewynd. Arlèn'ton’s people take pride in these roots, though their lives are simpler now, bound to fishing, herding, and quiet rituals of remembrance.

Arlèn'ton lies only a short ride from Sevenfold’s Tip, the fortified checkpoint that guards the narrow land bridge into Concordia. The town’s markets often bustle with merchants and travelers who have just crossed the border, bringing with them new goods, strange accents, and the occasional whiff of trouble. For many, Arlèn'ton is the first taste of Sevenfold after enduring the stern inspections of the Tip, making its beaches and taverns feel like a welcome exhale at the edge of two nations.

Despite its small size, Arlèn'ton carries a strange significance in wider histories. Whispers of unease cling to the town of Arlèn'ton. Travelers swear that at night, the tide sometimes brings in more than just seaweed—black husks or shards of stone that pulse faintly before crumbling to dust at dawn. Though the Void has not yet touched Arlèn'ton directly, the sense that it lingers nearby weighs heavily upon its inhabitants.

East of the town, cliffs rise sharply, and at their crown rests the Stargaze Plateau
a stargazing observatory abandoned generations ago. Its great telescopes are gone, dismantled or destroyed, but the foundations remain. In recent years, new Taufolk have reclaimed the Observatory in attempts to reinstate its original purpose.
