Idols are extraordinary beings who rise beyond the ordinary, living embodiments of the great Concepts. They are not gods in the strict sense, but figures whose legendary deeds or profound connection with the arcane forces of the realm that allow them to resonate deeply across many different cultures. Mortals who reach this state are revered alongside those born of myth.

One of the most celebrated is Radiant Solaris, the majestic feline guardian of Ignisar, who embodies the Sun. He is not a political ruler, but a celestial protector, circling the planet to ward off the encroaching Void and bathe the world in sustaining light. Out of compassion, he raised a lifeless stone into the heavens, shaping it into Luna, the Moon so that his watchful presence would linger even as he rested.

Another is Mistress Harmonia, the guide of Gentle Passage, who embodies tranquility and peace, carrying departed souls into the afterlife. Her direct counterpart is Mortemus, the Virtuoso of Violent Ends, a maestro of carnage who drew to himself the souls of those slain in war. Their bond was one of forbidden love, a tragic tale of serenity and destruction intertwined, reflecting the balance inherent in all Concepts. Yet another is The Star, which burns with a different force, a symbol of defiance that calls to those who carve their fate against all odds. In Arnewynd, Saint Estelle was revered as a healer whose presence carried hope to the forgotten and unheard.

Fenrir Wrymslayer, wolffolk warrior and peacemaker, forged unity among warring clans and founded the Voidbreakers to resist the Echoes, later ascending as an Idol himself. Scalebearer Allura Hershkowitz, a Deerfolk diplomat, was so vital in shaping the Sevenfold Commonwealth that she is honored within the Temple of Concepts. Such figures prove that idolhood is not inherited, but also can be earned, etched into history by deeds that reshape the world.

However, the source of their gifts remains debated. Some faithful insist Idols bestow power directly, pointing to relics like Harmonia’s symbols that darken when empathy is forsaken. Others believe faith itself is the vessel, that pure conviction in an Idol and their Concept is enough to awaken new power. A prevailing scholarly view suggests another path: that Idols serve as focal points, magnifying the conviction of the individual through the faith of the many, turning inner will into tangible, arcane strength.
